Nothing about its cost for what it is makes any reasonable sense to me.

There are LOTS of ways to make gold in the game, heck just playing the game (M+/Raids/etc.) I make more than I spend. So to not be making gold you have to either be working really hard, or you spend to much on random stuff.
Same for me all though I do have 5 private Guild banks I can store in too…I never had an issues moving mats around …

You’re only making that gold if you’re selling carries or are a maniac top 1% flipper on the AH or have a million alts and play all day every day.
I personally, craft, occasional carry and when gold was low buy a token. Works for me 
. I’m entering TWW with 2 mil, I’m happy.
I don’t mind the cost, but it’s not even 1 guildbank worth of space when it shoudl have been expandable to the same size.
Perhaps it will be in the future, though it best not be for MORE gold lol.
Could trade cross realms when they connected other realms to my main realm and that’s being going on for years now…and it was earlier then DF now to… Patch 9.2.5. Shadowlands let us move gold and stuff between factions…

Sorry about that, as the context that you provided didn’t come through in the comment that you replied to originally. In either case, there are people who just can’t do the things to earn money in the same ways as everyone else. While nearly everyone should be able to get the first three over the course of a few weeks, it just feels bad to those who can’t, for one reason or another.
This is so disingenuous. Not everyone earns money the same way as you. Some people quest or RP in their free time, and shouldn’t be forced into high gains per minute playstyles, just to be able to afford shared bank tabs. Put yourself in their shoes. You have 50k gold, social anxiety, and/or ability-limiting functionality in your hand/arm. You might also only have maximum 5 hours a week to play, and a stable of characters that you have created over the years, with personal guild banks full of mats that you want to use.
Any of these alone might be conquered, but add some together, and it makes it difficult to make gold, join groups, or do complicated tasks. Please just consider this when accusing people of self-sabotage, which is how your post reads.

Patch 9.2.5 was 5/31/2022, so just over 2 years. Connected Servers is not what I meant by playing on multiple servers. I have characters spread across multiple servers (and only 2 out of the 16 I play on are connected to other realms).
And I doubt people who have so little free time and mostly focus on not playing the game need that 4th tab (or any of them to be honest). Someone who needs those 4 tabs plays plenty to be able to afford it. I’m not the one being disingenuous here.
I have been playing beta and bought 3 tabs (the warbank works on beta). I am using it for professions. I have every profession. I have a map of how I’m using the tabs. 3 tabs is a bit of a stretch - I need to use individual accessories tabs for overflow. I can afford 5 tabs but I wouldn’t have much gold left. I might buy a fourth tab a few months into the expansion when I see how much gold I have then.
There will be more items than ever to make this feel more a requirement.
