Am I the only one that doesn’t feel that there’s enough of a difference between the two? I don’t notice the difference when playing on an alt with 280% flying compared to my Paladin with 310%
Just wondering if I’m the only one? I obviously know that 280% < 310% (Yes is should be faster, but it doesn’t FEEL like it.)

I feel the difference every time.
It’s 5k gold? I spend that changing my transmog every week. Why wouldn’t you buy it?
It’s not about the gold. I just don’t really feel the difference between the two.

It depends where you’re flying. If you’re just flying around town from the bank to the scrapper yeah, you don’t notice it. But if you do a MoP world boss tour, you absolutely notice it.
I’ve never payed enough attention to really say. I just go buy the upgrades as they become available. 
My druid only has 280% and I don’t really feel it. I don’t know what’s going on with my flying lol. Everyone else says THERE is a BIG difference. I just don’t notice it for some reason.

It doesn’t need to feel like it. It’s there. You’re faster. You are saving time.
I don’t find there’s much difference. Most of my characters don’t have the fastest flying. It’s not much of an issue with Blizzard determined to keep me stuck on the ground for so long.
I actually put on a timer and it came out to be the same time. I didn’t notice it, and I guess the timer didn’t either. ???
Then your test is fundamentally flawed.
Why don’t you try the same test?
The speed difference between 280% and 310% is more of a left over from back in the day. Before all mounts speed scaled to your riding speed only a select few had the 310% speed. When the scaling update came anyone that had one of the 310% mounts got it for free and the 310% option became purchaseable for 5k for others. It was in patch 4.0.1 if you want to read up about it.
Because I bloody well know it works. I go to a vendor on an alt every few months, I buy my way out of poverty flight speed, and I’m going faster. I see it in action.

Right. I remember the change. I had to purchase flying 310.
