Lets start with an brief introduction, before classic wow and during the time of burning crusade, it was exceptional to have herbing gloves enchanted to 305, because it increases the efficiency of herbing. The increase is in the amount of herbs you get off of a node. In the case you can get more than one herb (besides ghost mushrooms) thats always locked to 1. Firebloom, for example, you have more chances of pulling 2-3 fireblooms, and even 4 purple lotuses from one node.
I’m curious what increase to efficiency it has for mining. Currently with 305 mining, i’ve gotten 2 arcane crystals off of one node. There are threads claiming that instead of 2 swing nodes, you get more 4 swings nodes that appear more frequently.

I know I have gotten two crystals off of one node at 300 or so once.
I suppose you could test it by seeing how much rare stuff you get off of copper, as you overlevel it so. I don’t believe levels have anything to do with results, and are just a prerequisite.

Needs to be multiple dedicated studies testing the difference between herbing skills.
I always run around with herb gloves to reduce my chance of failing, I don’t think there is any proof that herb skill increases the amount of herbs you gain.

Herbalism skill doesn’t increase amount of herbs, just reduces fail chance.

You need gloves to 310 to gather the obsidian nodes in AQ, fyi.
Higher mining skill only affects the chance of a failed attempt. It doesn’t change what’s in the mine or how many hits it has. If you fail an attempt you can retry over and over until you get it. So higher mining is really just about not sitting there failing a bunch of times.
