Has anyone got the 3070 yet and have issues? fps etc?
Pretty much my 5700xt died and at 1440 i would get easy 80 fps in built up areas and in the open world from 80 to 200 fps, Just got the 3070 and im only getting around 70 to 80 fps anywhere i go, its a fresh windows install, drivers etc are up to date.
any help would be great thanks

In addition to what Norinila said, I’d try turning off Raytraced Shadows if you have it on. The 30 series is much better at Raytracing than the 20 series but I could still see that taking a good chunk out.

You might be CPU bottlenecked so upgrading the GPU doesn’t help. Did you change settings?

WoW is poorly optimized, especially the newer zones, in most areas of the game I can get 144 fps and about 40% gpu utilization but in places like Boralus my fps tanks to 90-100 and the game for some reason only utilizes 20% of my gpu. This game is really weird with things like that.

Also make sure in game settings are not pointing to some onboard graphics.

I have a 1440p monitor and running at that, its just strange, have settings down low i get that 80 fps turn every single thing to max like ray tracing, triple buffering, texturing filtering, post process AA to max i only drop to like 70fps, just dont understand why

That’s why I don’t go with major upgrades. You could have a top notch PC and still get just as much lag.

can allso go in to geforce experience and let it optimize the settings for you mite help

Is vertical sync checked? I’ve read where it can hurt fps, and with the Shadowlands pre-patch it was on by default for me at least.

Yeah, I had to turn v-sync back off. That’s something to definitely check.

thanks for tips guys, i dont know whats going on but it seems to be running pretty good now, even cap out at 200fps in some areas and i pretty much have every setting to max. i have no idea what fixed it, after changing game settings so many times it just worked haha

Did you use DDU

Ima check this. After pre patch I went from 100+ to cap at 60. There have been other folks saying the same thing.

I just got a 3070 Friday. I’m having the same issue. Ran 165+ With a 5700xt. Now I’m at 55-60. :man_shrugging:t2::man_shrugging:t2:

I have AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX 32 gb ram RTX 3070 having same issues especially in raids,. I m gonna break my laptop

Why bring back a post from 2 years ago

WoW is CPU bound.

I’m running a Ryzen 5 5600G with 32gb DDR4-3200 on the integrated Vega 7 graphics and I can 144hz lock at a 50 player world boss. You don’t need a GPU at all, just a quick CPU. if I had a guess, most people that have performance problems in WoW have an incorrect memory configuration, everything stacked on one channel halving the bandwidth.

WoW is as dependent on your CPU as the GPU. WoW will run like crap, even with a 4080 card, if you have an i5, for example.
