so i grinded my butt off for that recipe blackguard, its not a bad sword. now im wondering is swordsmith going to get better in the later phase? or did i just dump all my gold for nothing? It just seems weaponsmith or swordsmith just doesnt seem its worth the effor at the moment
It’s not amazing. You can make a few cool weapons. Nightfall and Annihilator both offer good raid debuffs.

Nope. Thats it. Later phases will bring some resist gear and a shield - no more craftable weapons are added.
Never is any of the blacksmithing worth it except for the server first LHH. If your intention is to make gold from it you are better off leveling an alt for herbing. Plans to target for gold resales - elemental sharp stones/thorium shield spike/mithril spurs/steel weap chain/inlaid mithril cylinder - these are your best ways of making gold as a smith.
The chances are you will never recoup your gold investment.
Who told you to go swordsmith ? even in burning crusade swordsmith was hardly a thing, everyone wanted the mace.

I went sword smith in BC!
Spent a lot of gold for that Blazefury and it wasn’t worth it but it still looked cool and served me pretty well for quite a while.

I think the BS specialisation were the best profession quests in WoW, very RPG, it’s a shame they didn’t flesh them out more in later tiers.
