30 Days Game Time Gone?

I’m sorry what?, why would someone do this? what’s in the greedy mind of these suit corpos? why should i be locked in 2 months of game time instead of playing my own pace? i’m so confused,i just came back to wow and i think im gonna drop wow forever until they change this trashy anti consumer policy.

You can still subscribe in 30 day increments. What changed was blocks of game time not attached to a subscription.

Someone in another thread pointed out the ways this will help combat account abuses (powerleveling services, botters, etc.). They spelled it out better than I can, but it’s not just change for the sake of change. I can see how it could be frustrating, especially for those who use game cards to pay because they don’t have credit/debit cards. But I also see why it kind of makes sense. :\

WoW tokens are unchanged by this, they should still give 30 days of time each. It’s only the actual game time purchase that’s being affected.

A lot of people seem to be confused and misinformed on this. Doesn’t hurt to check the actual post and not let your emotions lead you to ranting about it before you get all the facts

exactly targeting what my only option is.

I adore, simply adore, how the trolls in this forum supplant their own high-ground reasons for this change. There are no reasons. Blue provided none. But the forums trolls create them and then use that to support Activision’s anti-consumer behavior. Toxic at best.

Now I’m confused. You said you pay with tokens. So do you pay real money to sub for 1 month increments or do you pay in-game gold to get tokens and then use those tokens to add months to your sub?

In the latter case, literally nothing has changed.

Bewildering changes beget bewildered people. All the more reason why this didn’t really need to happen in the first place.

People only read headlines anymore.

You can redeem the token for 30 days gametime.

I…don’t understand. The tokens are the same as always. You can buy them with gold in game and convert that to 30 days of play time. This price change for game time is a totally separate unrelated thing. There’s no change to being able to play WoW through tokens at the same price.

Tokens will be increasing rapidly now. Remember, time is money.

There is literally no reason for them to increase. They give the same amount of time as they did before.

Well, other than people being idiots, but I suppose that is to be expected.

The tokens are similar to stock market. Speculation of this news has already began to spike it. It’s simple economics and this move by Activision, is multi pronged that people do not see.

Because they communicated it poorly. There’s really no practical difference between “game time” and a sub. Most people will use the terms interchangeably. It’s only natural for players to be confused. Most of us don’t explore every available option in the shop on a regular basis.

It’s really not. You can not resell tokens.

30 day purchase is gone. 30 day subscription is still here.

You aren’t

there’s like 80 threads about this

I keep hearing the troll say that ppl are misreading Blue. Blue’s post is only a few lines long, very clear, and without justification. There is no wrong way to read it. Those that suggest others are miscommunicating are supplanting their own high ground justifications aka burying their head in the sand.

Yes, the 30 day game time is gone. Blizzard is so greedy and short-sighted that they want only a 60 day option that costs more than the previous 60 day option.

You cannot pay for 30 days of game time with your bnet balance. Period. It’s gone.

If you want a 30 day game time you have to use a token - which you cannot gift to a friend - but you may redeem for yourself for 30 days. Or you have to do a subscription.

This change is so stupid.
