30 BOTS all running a pattern - NEED BETTER POLICING!

Because literally 30 of them running the exact same pattern at the exact same time, stopping on the exact same node, rotating exactly the same degrees, all attacking/casting at exact same time… and all with names like Qdfrt, Gdsr, Ksydfh - Again, not 2 or 3… 30+ in one small area.

Only 30? Those are rookie numbers.

You do know there are 40+ multiboxers in the game right?

Report and move on, they could still be a multiboxer using a kvm. Blizzard will look into it and decide the appropriate action.

The problem is that a lot of the are hyperspawns because they ARE quest mobs.

I dont think you are understanding me… 30+ BOT’s all moving and attacking at the EXACT same time… 30 all casting the exact same spell on the same MOB at the same time… then they all loot at same time, and then continue to move at same time. How is that not a bot? Seriously, please enlighten me. I mean seriously, how can you not understand this or argue it is not lol?

I don’t think you understand how a kvm works. With a kvm, any signal that is sent from a keyboard/mouse is sent to all computers connected. Meaning all characters connect will move and act the same. If those characters all have the same keybinds, they will use the exact same spells on the exact same creatures while moving in the exact same way. Just as you described.

The facts are you don’t know if they’re a bot or not. All you can do is report them and move on.

Logic would be useful.
As in the amount of bots are at such a high volume, the owner of this here playground needs to hire more staff versus abusing the kids playing for cheap child labor.

Oh. You don’t say? I’m shocked the bots weren’t completely culled by the change in policy!? Shocked! /s

So they have 30 computers? Wow, thats a serious investment.

PS: just checked on my Oceanic server, there are a group of them based on Frostmourne doing the same thing. Reported them as potential botters.

Oh please, let’s not be so dramatic.

Most bots never used broadcast software.

We need your help! you keeP a eye on the 2 million people playing and let us know which one’s are bots.

That’s not really necessary. They should be able to have in their programming the ability to compare input from multiple sources and compare it for variability. Hell, we had that capability on a god damn text mud in 1996.

they need better automated checks and it shouldn’t just be up to enough players seeing something and reporting it.

You sound like you work for Blizzard!

Do you!?

That’s what I’m saying. 2 million people it’s not easy to look at every one every day to know which one are botting.

No AAA title should be relying on manual reports for bots in 2020. Thats just sloppy programming.

Its very easy to create an automated flagging system that detects behaviors that vary from the norm. 10-30 synchronized moonkins moving in the same pattern, killing the same mobs without stopping for over 24 hours at a time would be easily detectable by such a system if they cared to use it.

It sure isn’t.
But it would be a simple matter for an AI to see which of them has imputed the exact same series of button presses in the same shard of the same zone for over 5 minutes and then produce a very short list of suspected bots to a small team of reviewing administrators.

No?

Ok, how about this.
You do realize that the time you spend typing up a Report Player in-game memo to Blizzard counts towards that almighty MAU that Blizzard uses to report player time-played metrics. So each second/min/mins you take to report a player for botting equates to better numbers for Blizzard to share with their stockholders. You use your time, that could have been spent doing something for your character, but you give it back to Blizzard as “Here ya go! Take my money!”.

A text mud isn’t millions of people around the world.

Literally no one is typing up reports. LOL

Right click, report for cheating. Done. It takes two seconds.
