TBH demon hunters look like they just took some old warlock talents and ideas, then elaborated on them to make a new class. Demon hunters could easily just be a fourth warlock spec.
Vanilla warlocks had a some poorly thought out melee ideas. They could even consume demons for their power.
Monk has always been a more difficult class to play. That, combined with their late addition, makes it reasonable for them to be low. Aesthetically (animations, transmog, etc) they’re in a pretty good place IMO.
Evokers are new and somewhat clunky to play, they’re race limited, and the race they’re restricted to is aesthetically meh. They’ll probably be on the bottom for a long time.
Rogues have a great aesthetic and have been around since the beginning (falling below other late comers like DK and DH), but are nonetheless probably low for a couple reasons - ranged dps is usually easier/more pleasant than melee, and their claim to fame (stealth) mostly shines in pvp, which has become less popular over the years (my gut sense, I could be wrong).
They should make monk xianxia themed and give them ridiculous purple prose abilites like “descending dragon’s seven fingered lightning palm of the eternal wheel”
I dont play warlock. I just dont like the " x class was OP so they should suck now" excuse. Classes are just software features. Theres no reason not to have them all be as functional as possible.
warlock just has too much utility to maintain for me.
making cookies all the time, being the summoning stone, setting up gates all the time, brez with cast time…
and then the interrupt has a long cooldown and you need a specific pet for it… nah. hard pass.
Not sure I can chalk Rogue up to “too many cooldowns” but I’m pretty exclusively Outlaw since it took a good amount of time for me to get decent at it so I won’t speak too much for Assassination and Sub.
Outlaw: I think the most common complaints are the APM, so it’s several abilities being cast in succession at certain times and intervals; if you don’t execute this well then it won’t produce comparatively good results. Also the hard cap on Blade Flurry reduces AoE damage compared to other classes (max targets struck is 8).
I started off really bad but worked at getting better, and now I’m kinda used to it.
I enjoy Outlaw Rogue because it is like a dual wielding, standup warrior that can choose to stealth (Although stealth & vanish are required in higher end content). I also like the leather versus plate. I played Rogue Vanilla → WotLK/Cata so it’s kind of in me despite how much it has changed.
if rogues took warlock spot i can see that they have made all 3 specs unfun with the last 2 expacs.
warlock was my OG main now it just feels like something is missing but still love it
i love monk DPS and healing top 3 favorite classes
evoker is fun but also suffers from being a glass canon on a design that wouldn’t imply lower defense
Rogues have been the least played class for years.
You would think that with all of the Brewmaster crying on the forums, they would be at the bottom, but there are more Brewmaster Monks running keys than both Subtlety and Outlaw combined lol.
I don’t get what you mean here. Summoning demons to kill things for you is warlocks class identity.
On topic, my 3 least played classes are Hunter, Priest , and probably Shaman? I’m playing hunter right now and started leveling a priest right now though lol
