3 Hours is NOT enough time to try out a class

Eh… i’d argue a day is fine. It’s not like they can do much in that time. He’s correct that 3 hours doesn’t really let you get a feel for the class and how it operates in different forms of content.

It would take you 24 hours to see if 6 buttons is fun to you or not? It’s not like classes are in depth. lol

you can - there might be a limit per week though now

Because level 35 is the level cap for Classic and outlands…think northrend, too…?

FF14–their largest competitor offers a trial account all the way to 60 which includes the base game and the 1st expansion which is between 80-100 hours of content.

There’s no reason to give WoW players scraps, anymore…and restrictions on top of that.

Give trial accounts full access to the game until level 35. Transmog, chat, mail, AH…hell…let them play the game. It’ll give them a better opinion if they want to continue.

Meh, I think it was to bypass some gold tricks and stuff people were doing.
Personally I wish they gave a instance with said trial character with legendaries etc so I know how a class feels decked out. With how borrowed powers are now, the trial doesn’t give me enough of a sense/picture how the class will feel.

do it longer

How do you even start a class trial?
I’ve never seen that option
Or are you talking about like, before you pay for a sub and all that?

No, and no it won’t. When you’re being misleading, it brings into question any point you’re trying to make.

Who are trial accounts for? New players? No. They just bought they game, they get THIRTY DAYS of free play time. Make all the alts you want, try them out. You don’t know what you’re doing anyway as a new player, hopefully you find something you like and keep playing.

And then, as a “veteran” player, you might want to try another class, but you don’t want to go through all the “lowbie” stuff. What we can now call “The New Hunter Syndrome.” Where people used to give up on the Hunter class before they even got their first pet and even understood what was so fun about it. (There’s a reason this was changed to how Hunters start now)

So now, you can create a Trial chr, it’s high enough level and geared enough for a veteran player to get a feel for if they’d like it or not. And buddy… three hours is PLENTY OF TIME to determine that. You aren’t going to convince anyone here that you can’t figure out if you like a class in 3 hours.

BECAUSE GUESS WHAT? If you’re BEING HONEST (which you’re not), and you really “just a trying to see if you like the class or not” … YOU CAN MAKE ANOTHER TRIAL CHR.

But you’re not willing to do that… because you’re lying about your reason to do it. You’re trying to farm something you otherwise couldn’t with your roster, or rig some other system with a Trial chr. There is no other reason.

All the things you listed are … playing the game. If you want to play the game, pay your subscription fee. But stop being dishonest about the reasons people want really long Trial timers. It ain’t to “figure out which 3 button rotation best suites my personality.” Give me a break.

How is FF14 not utterly overrun by bots etc.?

Yeap, that trial is what finally sealed the deal and had me install it last night. We’ll see if it’s better now (i played it when it first came out)

there has been about 1000% uprise in QOL fixes in 14. I played from Beta on to past the 2nd expac, its now got a TON of fixes.

24 hour trial when you could be spending that 24 hours just getting to 60 seems like a bad idea. Leveling is too fast for such a large trial time.

FF only allows a certain number of slots for characters and you pay extra for more. In WoW someone could spend years leveling up 50 characters on multiple servers and fill their entire account. Just not comparing apples to oranges.

Plus I am very doubtful FF has the same type of PvP content with the twink system where for some people that is all they want to do.

Just create a character of the class you want to try and level it. That way you have at least some idea of how to play the class by the time you get to max level.

Semper Fi! :us:
