Frost Mage with ilvl 605 and Brann at 35. I manage most 7/8 tier delves ok. Lots of cool down waiting but manage to complete them. There are a few bosses I just can’t seem to conquer. They are Spinshroom, Underlord Vik’tis and Netl’athekk the Skulking. Anyone else struggle with these 3?
i don’t know who the second two are, that’s how much attention i pay
but what’s killing you on spinshroom?
Vik’tis is probably a pain on a mage. He’s easiest if you’re able to outrange his AoE so having a tank with you or being a pet class makes it a lot easier. If you have enough aggro drops you can try to have Brann tank him so you can get out of range when he casts the stinging swarm aoe.
He will usually do his frontal, then go under, then do his frontal again, then his stinging swarm. Some of the time that swarm comes before the second frontal though.
Just generally in that small crowded space with him and tons of spores he wipes me every time.
can’t you just nova them and wait for them to explode? or just wait for them to stop moving and blink away. The spore are annoying but they’re far from hard to deal with.
hide behind the rock… That is what I do on my hunter. On my Paladin, I kite him around the rock.
On my Paladin, I found that the safest place for Underlord Vik’tis is under him… Then I can move out when I need to but not actually get hit by his swarms.
Most bosses seem fairly trivial to me except this one. I’ve never wiped but this one gives me the hardest time forcing me to actually kite & use my defensives wisely.
if it helps, you can pull and pre-kill about half the spores before you pull the boss. they respawn of course but it’ll buy some time at the beginning to get damage in without much to look out for.
i typically target the spores close to me as soon as they spawn, even though it means pulling damage off the boss briefly. i’d rather make them explode when i want than have them surprise me when i’m avoiding other mechanics.
For underlord, out range him if you cant mitigate the AE he does. Also keep health pots. Algari and cavedweller. Both are on separate cool downs. I have not seen the other 2, but if you can kite them from range, that would be my answer.
Idk if this was said already but you can kite Spin-shroom around the large rock at the end of the platform.
I beat the Spinshroom ezpz by starting the pull behind the rock at the edge of the cliff. Then he chases me around it, often stopping to do his thing and I just dps him down. So. Easy. He gets trapped, so-to-speak behind/around that rock.
I can’t imagine trying these delves on my mage. I am just not badbutt on her like some mages I see and am in awe of. So my hat goes off to you for doing it! Anyhow, I get these green drop items a lot that are a kind of “blink” that anyone can use. Maybe if you collect some of those you could blink around even more while your mage blink is on cd. Now I gotta check if those items are bop and if not mail to my mage just in case I get the wild idea to try with her. I hope you figure something out!
I just kill most of the spores prior to the pull then I dps the boss, when he does his twirl I just run around a rock as he follows, I gather up the rest of the spores and pull then on top of the boss who’s dazed after his twirl and then I just kill the adds. I’m pretty sure the adds do a bit of splash damage to the boss. Either way it’s a good time to manage the platform and adds.
Also I have Brann set to healer and so far on a Ranged and Melee its way easier then trying to leave up adds for me.
For me they all come down to constantly keeping barrier up, shimmering around, and grabbing Brann’s health pots. I know that’s generic advice for staying alive, but it’s easy to get lost in the chaos and forget the simple things. You can also adjust your talents to focus a bit more on defense. There’s one to reduce blink cooldown, a couple that help with your barrier, and one that lets Ice Block/Ice Cold heal you.
Not sure what you are using, but with my WW monk here I just do a lot of running, rolling and flying serpent. I care less about the spores but I do try to avoid them blowing me in the wrong direction when they pop. The first time doing a t8 against him I was down to 1 life before I finally figured out his pattern and would just roll around a lot, then move in fast when he’d stun himself after spinning. Brann is a healer so not a lot of damage, but thus far I’ve done 2 t8s with him and came close to dying both times.
I would just say move A LOT, around that rock especially, never sit still no matter what. The battle might take longer, but hopefully you’ll get through it. I don’t know the others yet, been slacking on doing delves aside from Fungal Folly, but hopefully I helped. Good luck either way!
Finally managed to get Underlord Vik’tis in a T8. Some lucky shimmer and all pots and cooldowns but finally! Had him close to dead and was able to hit Mirror Image and Icy Veins which kept him off me for the final blows.
I cant recall any hard bosses as of right now. I always make Spores to detonate at Bosses/mobs.
If AoE is killing you, Brann’s Potions would keep you alive from it. Drink one at a time. It doesnt only fill your hp up at once, it also heals you every second. If you dont know this, you are making Delves very hard. I can pull all mobs and kill them all by using this potion trick… and if there’s spores, it would melt all of them… ROFL.
BTW, my Brann is only level 30.
you can stand on the rock thing for spinshroom lol
if u cant beat em join em
Spinshroom you have to keep your distance and take out those spores, and also watch on the ground, because there is a ground effect with really strong poison that is sometimes hard to see. I actually hate that boss or any boss they put in a tiny space, especially with how much is going on in that fight.
