3 day paid early access is the new norm

Please no threats.

I was offering advice on being a better troll.

Incorrect. I can also deride them and tell them they’re being scummy.

The xtra money didn’t just include 3 day access. It was a bundle

As ya like, but that isn’t going to change anything.

Wallet matters far more to decision makers than an angry GD forum poster

By the 5th day we’ll see how many players will be crying  in forums . I’ll be ready with " I told you so . "

Then they should raise the sub price, not be scummy. Let’s be honest, whatever they lose on subs by not raising the price, they get back x2 at least and probably more, from being scummy.

No capitalize letter on Blizzard ? You’re failing , Grammar Priest .

You’re a weird one

I mean it’s pretty simple math and you’re not even close to correct.

$120/yr extra per sub from everyone playing the game, even less those that quit over it, over ~2 years of an expansion is by FAR more money than they’d earn by getting every single player to buy the premium edition one time every two years (and not even close to the entire playerbase has upgraded).

So if they increase the sub to $25, each player is paying them an extra ~$240 (give or take) over the course of an expansion.

By comparison, if they “tricked” everyone into upgrading their expansion they make an extra $40 per player over that same span…

They would get far, FAR more money by increasing sub costs than they do from this.

How could you possibly know that? It’s totally dependent on the proportion of time the average player spends subbed, and that’s totally unknown.

They’re not a charity. If they could get more money from raising sub prices, they would.

is… that bad?

I don’t know how I’m supposed to react. is it unusually long? or just long? I’m not much into 5mans.

I literally just showed you that they would make 600% more money by raising subs than by making everyone buy the epic version.

Even if you factor in people buying the expansion that don’t perennially subscribe, that’s an absurd delta to overcome.

No you didn’t, because that would require you revealing how much time the average player stays subbed over an expansion, and you don’t know that.

And yet you can confidently comment on how much they make from epic upgrades (as compared to a hypothetical sub increase) like that’s not complete conjecture as well?

Someone shipped logical argumentation class.

Geebus, no MMORPG has raised their sub price, so this is just nonsensical to even bicker about.

They’re a company. They don’t do what nerfs their profits. They do what increases them. If they could get more money by raising subs than by being scummy, they would do that.

Hi. I work in financial analytics.

No, no you didn’t :joy:
