3 day paid early access is the new norm

EA reports that 2.2 MILLION people paid the extra $30 just to play their new college football game 3 days early.

Most players would rather pay $100 to play 3 days early than $70 to be late.

It’s the new norm people. Just gotta get over it.

Edit: Hilarious this got reported as trolling… thank you mods for restoring it. Nothing about this is trolling.

get over what ?

No I don’t. I harbour no ill will to people who pay it. After all if you want your game, you want your game. But the companies that do it are scummy. It will never not be scummy.

I assure you that I am fully capable of staying mad about it regardless if it being normal.

Umm some of us got it because the one month paid time and goodies made the extra money totally worth it. Early access was just a bonus that I personally did not give two shytes about.

Too bad I guess… because the VAST majority of players are paying the extra money to play early.

It sucks but we are absolutely powerless.

Agreed.

I know people that are excited for the early access. I wish them luck but the game is very buggy and I don’t see how it is ethically right to ship the expansion so soon.

Not sure :+1:

I’m assuming part of the reason people are getting the 3 day access is pure enthusiasm for a new expansion, and another part is the very real fear of being left behind and outpaced.

The 3 day early access seems mostly harmless, I guess.

It is devastating for the image of WoW for returning players if the first impression is that servers are constantly down.

This is the gray area that should not be explored because how do you begin to compensate players that paid early access and they can not play in such a scenario?

Customer service nightmare.

Aight, what does this have to do with TWW? Are we complaining about regular maintenance again? Or do you have the foresight to know that early launch will be plagued with server issues despite the fact that the content/updates will already be in the game, just locked until that date?

Please enlighten me.

Based on how buggy prepatch and beta is we are beyond “normal maintenance”.

It’s too late. The current upcoming generation has been mentally conditioned to accept degenerate corporation sale tactics.

I mean the fear may be real but the basis for it isn’t.

They made very sure that there’s basically zero advantage to be gained from those three days. Most you can get is some extra profession materials, maybe, which is hardly a game-breaking leg up.

That’s pretty bad since pre patch didn’t even start yet.
