2v2/Healer

Debating on playing a healer for the first time.
Any suggestions on which to play.

I mainly do BGs, Open World, and 2v2s with my Brother. He is pretty set on unholy DK and Fury Warrior so that leave me to try and heal.

I would like something easy to learn and if possible a class that could do some damage and win 1v1 situations.

Pres/Disc, currently.

Pres/Disc are heads and shoulders above everyone else currently. I’d pick one of them prob

Rdruid maybe as in investment in the future, since if they get some throughput buffs, they’ll shoot up to be the kings of the 2s bracket pretty quickly (but again, that’s not current and only based on potential buffs which I think will be coming)

With that being said, I think any healer spec could find success with fury or UHDK currently

Thanks, yeah those are the 2 I thought about, wasn’t sure on how other healers were doing in that department. I have a Shadow Priest at 80 so I may just go with that. and possibly try out Pres, if I am not feeling it Disc

I mention them, not so much because they’re strong currently (which they are), but because you wanted damage. The other Healers are a bit meh when it comes to damage at the moment, which is why we’re seeing some Healer damage reworks in 11.0.5.

Rdruid had decent damage, but then they nerfed it, IIRC. I don’t really know where they stand at the moment, damage-wise. Like, can they 1v1? Could you see an Rdruid closing out a 2s game fairly easily by itself, or nah? You might know better than me.

They still could if we could take convoke of the spirits, but we don’t have the HPS throughput to give up tree of life currently, so no one does (I tried it for a few matches - it went miserably). Or at least I don’t, ToL is kinda necessary atm for me to be able to match offensive cd’s once my walls/overgrowth/treeants/etc are used

It depends on the 1v1 and how late into dampening it is, but some are easier than others. For reference most of my games end with me doing 100-150k DPS. We definitely have damage potential, but a lot of it is unviable/unable to be used or selected due to currently lacking healing throughput. I’d have a better answer for you once I’m playing with/against actual good players, I’ve only really had time for 2 queue sessions so far this season (ie, hard to say “ya we can 1v1 mages just fine!” just because I won a single 1v1 against a bad mage). Also, this is from the perspective of an extremely ruaty 2.4k-ish druid, I’m sure multiglad/r1 rdruids are making less mistakes and could maybe get away with more offensive play

In wpvp/random BG’s I basically feel immortal, but that’s a 0% dampening environment against mostly unaware/bad players and to be expected

Play Pres. Good utility, heals and you can spit TacoBell Baja Blast on people for insane damage.

Pres is probably the best in the game by far now. Druid 2s will always be good. Disc is fun but takes practice as with Druid. Hpal has a lot of utility. I would pick a healer that goes with your dps class. I actually like rsham and disc the best. But I never tried to learn pres yet.
