aside from end legion destro and rogue/mage seasons nobody really remembers or cares how you got your rating at long as you didnt play with a tank

the game has historically always been balanced around 3’s both damage and healing as well as utility
take resto druid for example
cyclone has a short range, it’s supposed to make it easy to punish bad druids that push in to get a cyclone at bad times
in 2’s it’s significantly less likely you’ll be punished for positioning poorly and it’s significantly less likely the enemy has ample stops to deal with it making it extremely free for you to not worry about anything and just press buttons the wrong way as an rdruid
in 2’s a bad druid can get stunned out of bear form 25 times in a row and not be punished to the full extent because he only has to live through the singular dps
you can recover without trying or without skill until dampening makes it impossible
it’s embarrassing
in 3’s if you are a druid and you randomly decide to push in to cyclone you open yourself to very easy swaps out of bearform by melee or put yourself in a position where wizards get free CC on you away from the pillar
the skillcap is significantly smaller this xpac than most others but in mop/wod/even legion if you pushed into clone range randomly vs a wwdk they’d turn and just kill you in a sweep/fist
or if you pushed off the pillar against a rogue mage or godcomp looking for a cyclone at the wrong time you’d get stunned and freesheeped or literally just killed
take dps as an example
in a 2’s match a melee can pretty much just run at a healer without thinking
behind the pillar? range his healer? anything he wants? no problem, literally doesnt matter, skill doesnt win 2’s dampening does
it’s SIGNIFICANTLY less impactful trying to punish bad play as a singular dps which breeds HORRIBLE habits for BOTH teams
historically real rogue mage is Sub/frost/disc
sub dance lets them lock down an entire team with cheap, mage is free to get important polys, then damage happens
this is considered skill based this is team gameplay
in 2s something like a dk can just turn it’s brain off and run at a mage and stop literally every important cast without thinking
3s are dynamic and there are multiple roles and levels of support that enable each member of your team to excel
2’s is pretty much just ignore everything and rush down something until it dies without thinking because dampening told you it’s been 7 minutes

Also 3v3 is also infested with fotm players and pve trinkets

I have more trouble with ele healer or destro healer. They aint beatable. Atleast I have a 50% win rate vs dk healer.
this is actually all true for 3’s now as well tho
2s have been a joke since they made it basically healer/DPS the bracket in whatever expansion they had to make healers insanely strong. Healers should be soloable by a single DPS that plays well, and should 100% die with 2 DPS on them when they aren’t getting peels.
3s have been a joke since Legion when they started playing roulette with class balance so whoever gets lucky and wins the patch gets free gladiator.
