2nd Stimulus Arrived

WalMart sells food and Amazon has Whole Foods and Pantry so I don’t really see their problem.

Oh well, I hope all of you get your 2nd checks soon <3

Well first Id say make friends with someone working at a shop/gas station and you will know someone living paycheck to paycheck. And if you worried about deficit/debt I would say the $2t the top 1% got from a tax break should be your focus cause if your making less than 1mil a yr your about to pay their taxes starting 2021.

yeah that’s kind of what I mean is that if we’re going to be passing out money they need to give it to the people that really need it. I would rather them give $4,000 to the person working over at Walmart or a gas station as opposed to giving me anything. I’ve got plenty of money in the bank I have tons of money dumped into investments I literally don’t need the money and yet they sent me the money last time. I would rather them give more money to the people that actually need it and no money to the people that don’t

Yea, they are zealots here

Well I would recommend you donate to a local food bank they can turn that money into many many meals/items needed by those that are hurting.

Meh, it will never get paid off that debt is just from the funded Liabilities… If you add unfunded the real debt is around 210 trillion

right but like I said I don’t know a single person that actually needs the money but I can guarantee you that every single one of them will keep the money if it’s sent to them. Most people would. That’s a waste of money sending it to people that don’t need it because we’re not checking to see if they need it first. All they have to do is have the IRS look at the person’s financial records for this year and see if they had an income that was sufficient. If they have a $50 or $60,000 your job and they’ve been working 40 hours a week then they don’t need $600 or $2,000 most likely.

If it’s somebody working for $30,000 a year and they’ve got eight kids then yeah they need the money.

The problem is you pass it out to people that don’t need it they’re not going to turn it down

Soulless husk named McConnel made it impossible.

And there is that lol. I always like listening to the people who say we need to go back to the gold standard lol. There’s not enough gold out of the ground and in the ground to cover the economy of one country let alone the entire planet LOL

Civics lesson time!

The problem is the way the Senate works.

There are actually a majority of Senators who want the $2000. However, no bill can be voted on unless the Senate Majority Leader agrees to allow a vote.

McConnell (the Republican Senate Majority Leader) will not allow a vote.

The problem is that a majority of Republican Senators - some of whom want the $2000 - continue to back McConnell to remain as Majority Leader, and he has absolute power that way over what gets voted on.

It’s a stupid system.

Yeah I don’t like that idea of one man being able to hold up legislation. Just like I don’t think governors and presidents should have veto power at all. If Congress passes a bill and it gets through both houses the president being one man should have no authority to veto

Same with congress. One man should not be allowed to hold anything up

I mean…you could always give it to someone that does if it’s that much of a concern of yours. You would probably do so faster and more efficiently than the government does.

Of course people wont turn it down not like everyone can just pass their last yr tax cost on to the next guy. But most people arent going to waste it college kids sure thats a given but adults and breadwinners know we arent over this yet that money might be the thing that saves their rears. I know people that still have the 1200 its their emergency gas/food/rent money, because the random restrictions being put up and removed they dont know if they will have a job to go to month to month.

And that style also has its pitfalls to

They keep him as majority leader because hes the one who ran newt out and has the deep pocket connections that keep him in power. So much so his own re-election debate he just sat there laughing as his dem op listed how many people in his state died. He only cares about the big bucks and they want judges to get rid of the restrictions.

There are plenty of other Republicans that do not support it, it’s actually not clear if 2k checks would pass the Senate even if McConnell actually allowed a vote on it. Democrats are all in favor of it, but fiscal conservatives in the Republican party don’t want to spend the money.

Why flag this? Op didn’t decide the amount lol

The Republican Senate leader is pure garbage, so we’re not getting the extra $1,400.
