Hey guys, I mostly PvP on my Orc warrior. After this week I should be rank 10, and Im looking at raiding with my warrior instead of hunter. We have a 2h warrior that does pretty good, but he has the 2h axe from BWL…
The general consensus, is go 1h. But I have Spinal Reaper.
The 1h’s I have are the AV one and the healing axe from Hakkar. I also have both the Warblades that I used when I was playing around with Fury/prot.
Im looking at respeccing for raid tomorrow as DPS, but I cant make up my mind if I should go 1h, or use the Spinal Reaper.
My gear is pretty solid, LHH, SGC, HoJ and most the ZG DPS items etc.
So, Im wondering what is the best weapon set up to spec for, to raid in BWL?
edit* also, I have Crusader on Spinal Reaper, but nothing on the 1h’s. So Im a little hesitant to enchant everything just for testing. But if 1h really is that much better then ill invest in enchanting them.
if you have spinal then use that. for vael 2h is better than dual wield.
you would need db/crul mh with a decent offhand to outperform spinal regardless of boss.
Dual wield is technically better, but its nothing massive. It ultimately doesnt matter due to how easy the content is. I myself raid as 2H fury with ashkandi and full plate, a lot of which is tank oriented (4/8 might, and i dont really want to wear leather), and i dont have any real trouble staying competitive on dps. Just do what you think is more fun
If you’re playing horde with windfury totem then 2H fury is pretty good, on par with DW fury.
On alliance 2H fury only does ok because it’s great for trash packs but it’s pretty bad for boss fights. DW is pretty clearly better on alliance but only if you have the hit and weapons to get it to work.
And that is true, but it ultimately doesnt really matter. Youre still going to be far better than say a ret paladin on boss fights, just not AS good as dual wield. In the end the content is so easy you should just play whatever you want.
Dual wield orcs are unparalleled the best melee dps currently. I love 2H, but it only really shines on fights with heavy cleave.
1h is so much better that its not even a question
my guild has an orc warrior with frostbite+zulian hacker, as well as an ashkandi
the 1hs do more dps than ashkandi
this is largely due to the heroic strike cancelling thing removing the offhand’s hit penalty
I raid with BRE now, honestly a lot of fun and you easily keep up with dual wield
