Hello everyone. I hit 60 and am using a 2h Weapon in Fury. I was watching videos and it was saying if you are in a group or raid with wind fury, to spam hamstring into the rotation. So it would go charge>Bloodthirst>whirlwind>hamstring (until bloodthirst is back, then rinse and repeat rotation. Is this the correct rotation? What would the rotation be if you have no shaman? Any help is appreciated!
Hamstring spam works only with Windfury Totem as its sole purpose is to proc Windfury. You can do Bloodthirst → WW and if you have enough rage to not risk being able to cast BT when it’s going to be up then cast hamstring. WHen very full of rage queue Heroic Strike.
Rotation without Shaman is the same just no Hamstring. When you have lots of spare rage you can cast Heroic Strike or hell even Slam if you time it right and won’t have push back.
Slam is better than hamstring. You should only hamstring when you have:
- extra rage
- BT and WW are on cooldown
- can’t slam (during movement or spell pushback)
Some fights you can use it more than others (Firemaw is one example, his aura causes spell pushback every time it ticks, which is not good for slam).
Overall, don’t use it very much. Get better at using slam instead.
True but I’ve noticed that there’s always a lot of moving, maybe not on bosses but on regular pulls at least, so I end up almost always using hamstring over Slam. But yes, Slam is better.
On trash, you should dump rage with cleave, not hamstring.
Hamstring is for pure single target with movement or spell pushback only.
So just clarifying, hamstring for single target while moving, slam in the rotation when I’m able to be stationary?
Yes.
Hamstring itself is negligible damage. The only reason it would ever be worth is the 20% chance of an auto attack from windfury.
Slam is more than an auto attack worth of damage; it crits at 220% because it’s yellow damage; and it also has the same 20% chance to proc windfury. It’s better as long as you can use it.
