2H Frost Transmog question

2H Frost Transmog – how is this affected if I want to transmog my shadowlands 2-hander into the legion artifact Blades of Fallen Prince?

Do the proc rates and damage modifiers for 2H remain?
What about weapon strike speed and animations?

Has anyone tested this on beta?

From the blue post

    • Rank 2: Increases your Obliterate damage by 25% and Killing Machine Proc chance when using a two-hand
  • Runic Attenuation

  • The proc rate has been adjusted to bring Dual Wield and Two-Handed closer together and the Runic Power gain has been increased to 5 from 3.

Developers’ notes: Our goal here is to bridge the gap of the proc discrepancy between DW and 2H, as well as giving 2-Handed Frost its own passive ability to make up the difference of not having two runeforge enchants.

My assumption here is that you can’t transmog 2H -> 1H.

This would be a flawed design, and frankly, unfair to DKs.

Holy paladins can transmog 1h + shield into their 2H legion artifact. Similarly other classes can transmog 1h + offhand to a 2h staff such as balance/resto druid.

At the moment you’re able to transmog the artifact over a 2H. The offhand will never swing though.

Feral has the same issue when mogging a polearm/staff into the fangs.

The classes that can do that don’t use their weapon for combat, and mogging a single 1H into a 2H causes less issues than two 1H. I’m pretty sure their weapons are also generally slower, so in the rare occasion they end up hitting something with the weapon it looks pretty much normal.

EDIT: I almost forgot to mention, the spec restrictions on artifact appearances are being lifted in Shadowlands, so we’ll be able to use the Unholy and Blood appearances as well.
