2h enhancement

Why is the dev team so adverse to letting enhance rock two-handers? If a shaman wants to swing around the black hand instead of some one-handers, why is this any harder to implement than 2h frost, smf or windwalker?

I’ll take cosmetic over nothing at all.

They explained it in a interview with Ion sometime within the past 3 months, look through those videos and they explain why. I just don’t really remember cause i dont really care for it personally. Duel wielding is always cooler.

They said it would require balancing lol when they’re adding back two handed to frost death knights. They just don’t want to do it is the reason. If they can add back two handed frost then they can add back two handed enhancement.

They just don’t like the ideas that old dev teams had.

The thing is that it would be completely cosmetic today also. Attacks are now based on attack power instead of weapon damage. It just seems like they’re being stubborn.

The explanation made no sense. There’s nothing inherent with enhancement’s play-style that makes this adjustment impossible over the other ones being converted/re-converted.

I mean why 2h? Every shaman in game hasn’t been really a 2h based. It seems weird seeing it. Just cause classic did it doesn’t mean it should be a thing now.

Because dual wielding is lame and 2h weapons look cooler.

how is duel wielding lame? having a weapon in each hand is cool.

Pretty much every one hander is like 2.6s atk spd anyway for enh, pretty slow. Just normalize all 2h to be 2.6s atk spd for enh if they aren’t already, literally no difference then.

Dual wield vs 2H is largely 100% cosmetic at this point anyway.

Because dual wielding is clumsy and less efficient than a single weapon. Also it is very overdone in WoW. Most melee dps specs are forced into it.

I thought the same, if they can do it to frost DKs why not enhance

To much rng on one hand maces is my guess lol.

The explanation was actually pretty good. I don’t have the exact interview so I’m kinda basing it off memory but it was basically along the lines of shaman 2-hand enhance hasn’t really been a thing for many many years and wasn’t really ever meant to be a thing.

They could obviously come up with a way to balance it. But it’s just not really a part of the class fantasy they ever wanted to support. Hence the reason it was very short lived towards the early years of the game.

To be fair. If it wasn’t meant to be a thing, then why was it a talent in the enhancement tree in vanilla? It made it so you COULD use 2 handers. No other spec had that option, it was intentional.

If it wasn’t meant to be a thing, why was it a talent to begin with?

Edit: Misread, ignore this.

2H didn’t work in Vanilla cuz of Mana issues and we didn’t have Lava Lash. Now 2H can work like it did in Wrath, but Blizz hates shamans for some reason.

I guess they just blindly threw darts at talents on a wall and went with the ones they hit.

The rumor is that Enhance was supposed to be a tank spec but they ran outta time.

I am slightly inebriated, my apologies xD

I misread the ‘wasn’t’ as ‘was’ because my brain is super good.
