Its just spam at this point.
Just keep the spam to the thread that will be rightfully ignored plz.
Honestly I want this back and DW hunters.
Two handed enhance completly counters how enhancement has worked since wrath, it would take waaay too long to get any malestrom stacks.
The balance to that is less maelstrom stack but much harder windfury. Plus if you build for Stormstrike giving maelstrom stacks you could mitigate a large amount of the slower stack making.
Windfury scales off AP not weapon damage. Windfury would not hit harder.
For real, keep this spam to one thread
Well then maybe a passive to increase 2H attack speed?
I mean thereâs Flurry for critical hits. maybe just something that applies to 2H auto? Ah you hit! now you swing faster!
Your probably the type of warrior who preferred the SMF warrior over TG warrior.
I have toons for both.
SMF wars dont exist anymore neither do TG wars. But the gameplay for both does still to some extent. Not a fan of SMF warriors. Lots of haste stacking and that is when Blizz decided fury needed haste and not crit and TG wars were better with crit. But then after that the 2h wep wars had haste as best stat for quite some time. SMF was terrible.
For aesthetics, I absolutely prefer single-minded fury â same way I would prefer 2h Enhance.
the issue can be fixed simply by updating transmog rules â theyâve already taken steps to override its archaeic limitations by allowing you to unlock gear for any class when it drops regardless if your current character can use it or not (this is in Dragonflight).
We already have legendaries that can overlap our current options, in some cases, utilizing a 2h leggo where you are otherwise using a different combo (Holy Paladin is a prime example).
When things come down to visual and aesthetics (wielding a one-hand weapon or wielding a 2-handed weapon) if the class is/was/has been able to wield either at the time, they should be allowed to transmog over their current items.
Iâm against this idea due to many reason, however here is how I would do it:
Make maelstrom weapon give 2 stacks for 2h weapons. Remove flame thong from the game since no one cares about it. Allow us to use windfury on the off hand. Detach lava lash from the offhand.
All the factors people use to explain why it canât be done can be mitigated by tuning similar to how frost dk gets harder hitting obliterates when using 2h. It can be done, Blizzard just doesnât because that would require a little actual effort. Canât just copy/paste with a recolor so the technology just doesnât exist apparently.
Except its not just about hitting harder. Itâs about maelstrom stack generation. Itâs about lava lash. Its about flametongue weapon imbue.
These are things Frost DK did not have to worry about. Frost DK had no melee attack tied to the off-hand.
Frost DK had to worry about runechanting and runic power. Since runic power was static increase rather than a chance on hit, its not the same as maelstrom stack generation.
Now, Blizzard could implement a coefficient that increases your maelstrom stack generation when you are using a 2h. But you are still missing out on damage from lava lash and flametongue.
Itâs significantly more work than Frost DK was.
Furthermore, Windfury would hit for the same or less, depending on whether or not a single 2h gave you more or less attack power than dual-wielding. It hasnât scaled with weapon damage for a long time.
Yes, thatâs what I said. I understand the differences. They could do it but they donât because it requires a little more effort than frost dks did and it has been quite noticeable how little effort Blizzard really wants to put into class design. They are comfortable with just changing a couple of talents every expansion and leaving it until next expansion despite any problems the design might have. They need to get back into the idea doing class changes mid expansion.
I think the best idea would be to have a weapon imbue specifically made for 2h rather than using Windfury Weapon or Flametongue Weapon. Seeing as the extra hits function of old Windfury is essentially translated to SS damage via Stormflurry. A decent example could be âRockbider Weapon increases main hand weapon attacks damage by 35%(?) only usable on two-handed weaponsâ then MSW generation can be handled via talents like having Elemental Assault generate 2 more MSW stacks when weapon is imbued with Rockbider. Lava Lash could be replaced by Ice Strike in a 2h build.
Shallow idea but I thought this out in 5 minutes while people have been wanting 2h enh viable since Vanilla. Theyâve had almost 20 years to work this out and they havenât simply because they donât want to. I get that they took the design in a different direction but in the time of âWe are listening to what the community wants.â It would be nice if they acknowledge one of the longest standing requests in the history of this game. Itâs not as if we are asking for anything outlandish here.
I feel like a better way to frame the argument is 2H enhance as a visual option.
SMF and 2h frost have kinda shown the hurdles involved with balancing two different weapon types, and I donât really think what people want with 2h enhance is vanilla shaman playstyle.
But I would adore if blizzard just found a way to skin 1h enhance to look like 2h enhance. Thats all Ive ever wanted, since I just preferred 2h enhance aesthetically.
Itâs not a little. You are redesigning a core part of the enhancement toolkit, that has remained a core part even when the spec was completely changed (Flametongue and Lava Lash remained a core part even from Pre-Legion to Legion/BFA and back again).
Frost DK had no such changes like this. It was strictly damage output and losing one runechant. Monk had no such changes like this.
Neither of those classes incorporate an off-hand attack into the core of their kit.
The moment you (the general you â explaining this because I know someone out there will read it as âwell I didnât suggest thatâ) throw around ideas like: âOh, just remove lava lash from requiring off-handâ or âRedesign enchants to work with a 2hâ you are moving away from damage tuning (which is what the crux of Frost rework as) and into straight up class redesign.
And yes, even adjusting the rate at which you get to obliterate/howling wind with a 2h vs. One-hand is damage tuning, rather than class design. If frost DK had somehow changed the way you get to do those abilities, Iâd say you have an argument for Blizzard putting in the effort for 2h.
But the biggest crux of the issue is, most people want 2h for big numbers because of old windfury. News flash â nothing is stopping you from equipping a 2h with windfury on live right now. Go do it. You can get the exact same gameplay that Enhance shaman had in classic, which was, drumroll pleaseâŠauto-attacking. Classic didnât get ot use Stormstrike either, as Stormstrike was just a swing timer reset, and most either opted into Natureâs Swiftness for instant heal, or Elemental Devastation for a guaranteed crit follow-up. In addition, go imbue windfury on a 2h agi weapon (staff, they exist â druids and monks use them) and see how big your numbers are with Windfury. They will be the same or smaller than dual-wielding, because Windfury does not scale with weapon damage and hasnât for a very long time.
