280% flying in Shadowlands Pre-Patch

Blizzard, you have a problem with 280% flying in pre-patch, and it’s simply that you’re not upgrading those who own it to 310% flying. To simplify flying and reduce gold costs, 280% flying has been made unavailable to purchase and 310% takes up that spot.

I commend you on this, but I do not know why you have not enabled the ability for those characters who are already 280% to get boosted to 310%. You are making it 200% gold for current players instead of the 100% you’ll have to pay come 9.0.

This seems incredibly near sighted, and upgrading flying is the obvious choice with this type of change, to reward those who were already playing the game and who had characters at 280%.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for pre-patch, but little things like this add up in the end as a rather large annoyance. The amount of gold most of us have probably spent getting 5, 10, 15, 20+ alts to 310% flying trumps any reasoning behind this decision.

Please Blizz, throw us a bone, give us this brownie, and boost everyone to 310% who had 280%.

It is around 5000g each, I think it’s 4,750 for both 280% and 310%

That’s so easy to make right now.

Must not be exalted with Stormwind. Even 5,000g isn’t hard to come by. Why are you trying to make excuses?

It isn’t about the gold itself necessarily, more principle. I dislike changes where it is great for new players, but frustrating or unfair for older players.

The cost for flight training is 5k gold minus reputation discounts if available, down to 4500 gold per rank.

Just one of those benefits that new players get, I mean, I put in thousands of hours leveling, With each expansion, i would like to be refunded all the time they save leveling new toons in a few hours. Does that make sense. Nah.

on a more serious note, lets talk about heirlooms. now that i actually feel robbed!

A change that doesn’t bother you does not make it a nonproblem. You seem awfully dismissive of my complaint or topic. Would you like to provide an actual argument, or just strawman with the typical forum arguments?

u r so smart , is th and same want refund for them player plus more bc 2000 gold it was a lot , now is not a lot

I don’t know, there are a lot of players out there who seem to have trouble with gold. I’m really not sure how at this point when its handed out so casually. I buy rep mounts every chance I get, get max flight training on every alt I make, change my xmog regularly on multiple toons, and still have enough gold for repairs, gems, enchants, etc. There must be people out there who just refuse to loot anything but quest items or something…

I think heirlooms are similar in this sense, except I think I value higher speed flying than heirlooms, they are overly expensive for what they are now becoming. I like that they want to make something fun and different with heirlooms instead of flat XP buffs, but I really don’t know if they’ve nailed it 100% as of yet.

And I did?

Gold is not difficult to farm for an experienced player. We have numerous multi-boxers running Botinest for the hurpity durp gold farm. You can literally obtain gold on numerous alts by doing World Quests and the such at end-game.

I do not see it as a problem. You want to have alts? Then you have to jump through the hoops. Through my perspective you are nit picking at this. Sure, you want the game handed to you on a silver platter. But, realistically Blizzard is spoonfeeding us whilst leveling alts with the 100% XP boost.

The fact that I, much like you have to fork out gold for flying doesn’t make it a problem in itself. It is literally easy, to pick up the Stormwind Tabard at level 15, run dungeons, do quests whilst waiting for que pop if you aren’t a healer, or tank.

Once at revered or exalted the price literally drops and you don’t have to spend as much. This has been a mechanic in the game literally since Vanilla with riding, mount purchases and vendors.

I do not see this as a problem. I’m not really sure what to tell you other than this long rant.

I’m just cheap.

I have 310 on Piddy, but not on any of my other 3 “not quite mains”. Frankly, 5K for just over a 10% increase is kind of a rip off – even with gold as easy as it is to get right now.

At this point with the way Blizz has been doing things, I’m just glad they aren’t Downgrading it back to 150 flying and letting us keep the 280.
