Rough math here. Someone correct me if its incorrect but:
A perfect AV (all towers + Bal dead) gives 280 honor. Assuming another 20 honor from HKS (unlikely since AV is a Pve rush) thats 300 honor. A rush AV win with no towers and Bal (much more likely) gives 80 honor per win (add 20 very unlikely honor from hks and its 100 honor). For simplicity’s sake if we take 50-50 ratio between perfect and non-perfect wins, average is 200 honor per win.
A loss awards 50 honor per AV. With a 50-50 W/L ratio we get an average of 140 honor per game. (200 for win + 80 for a loss divided by 2).
The 2 handed weapon costs 38,000 honor. So we need to play 273 AVs to get enough honor. In the process we would need to delete 350+ marks since the cap is 100.
Horde AV queue time is 15 mins. A game lasts 20 mins. So we need to play AV for 170 hours , without a break for the 2 hander.
This sounds about right.
Edit: 38k honor for 2h not 30k. Ty Hiten for correction
Blizzard has made it abundantly clear to me their development team doesn’t like somebody who dares to be more intelligent than them. Which is pretty tough considering it’s a very low bar. They kind of go out of their way to fire people who they deem “malcontents” because they try to warn them against doing stupid changes that they think are really cool that inevitably are hated by the community. Or if they don’t fire them they just make being there VERY inconvenient to the point they’ll just want to quit by completely shutting them down at every opportunity.
As they said regarding pvp balancing and the new abilities infamously: "What usually happens is you have that one guy who says “This kind of really screws with pvp balancing” and the response is basically “Shut up, pvp guy. It sounds cool so this is what we’re doing.” "
Another case example, in BFA they outright nuked the alpha forums because people were telling them how poorly thought out and executed Azerite Traits and Heart of Azeroth were as systems and just went forward with it thinking the beta players were just going to complain about everything. Surely enough everyone on 8.0 hated the system.
