To me it sounds like you’re okay with people being punished because they did a service and received gold in the process, but because that gold was purchase via a third party… a ban is perfectly, ok?
They can track trades just as easily as the AH, they can also track cross server trades without any issue (assuming same account).
They are all going to be line items in a log…
Yeah I absolutely do not care where the person on the other side of the trade got their gold.
It is up to blizzard to ban bad actors, not for me to try and discover them.
Again, the same is true of the AH but much worse. Where do you think gold buyers spend most of their gold? Where do you think bots sell most of their items. The AH is full of illicit transactions - but I’m not going to sit there and go ‘um consumes are extra cheap today, it must be because bots farmed them, thus I should find a different source’.
Lol thats weird cuz i didnt lose anything. I never had that gold. You have a very odd view of the game. I never had 350g and the consumes never went for that much on my server anyway. Inflation like that only happens on mega servers. I cant lose what i didnt have. I play to raid not make gold.
If you use something instead of selling it, you lose the potential value of the sale.
But i never intended to sell. I dont want to sell. I dont need the gold if i can make consumables myself. What would i need all that gold for? I actually play the game. I dont raid log. I have every profession maxed. I dont need all tgat gold because i can make anything i need myself. There is no “potential” gold. I never planned on selling. I make consumes for myself.
Are you saying i should sell my consumables… so i can buy consumables?
Even if you would never sell in a million years, the fact remains that using the items has the same value as potentially selling it.
Think of it this way - it doesn’t matter if someone farms 100g and buys consumes, or they farm those consumes themselves if the time taken was equal. The opportunity cost of using the consumes is not selling them, thus we can look at all things in a similar metric (their gold value).
- So you farmed 100g worth of consumes and used them.
- Gwennedl bought her consumes from 100g she got killing ogres.
You both used 100g worth of consumes - you also did even if you had zero plans of ever selling those consumes.
no you should play the game in whatever way makes you happy
Not reading all that cuz you make zero sense.
You can take risks without dying if you have a good tank and know how to watch a threat meter
The funny part is that, with 2milion world buffs and crap out there, you didn’t even need most of those consumables to be able to clear naxx. Now is SoD with all of these new spells, if they don’t buff naxx, it can probably be cleared by 30 naked ppl.
Definitely lessened
How much for the leatherworking helmet?
How much for the engineering belt?
I need both.
You rush to conclusions when the phase has only been out for a week. The reason you do this is because you can come to a conclusion that fits your bias. A very tired and old form of dishonest conversation.
They already hinted doul spec will be coming at the end so watch it be like 20,000g
Normally can’t see his posts because I have him muted. He’s kind of just boring at this point.
Buying these items should immediately trigger an account audit. lol
Me in Naxx last weekend, gold prices on left:
350 flask x2
45 wizard oil x2
55 Greater arcane elixir x 8
1 major health pots x5
8 major mana pots x8
1 int buff food x20
10 Chronoboon x1
That’s 1429 gold.
Edit: not even bothering to try to remember how many fire/frost gpp I ate. Or, the fact that tanks and melee need lips/faps.
Such a dumb take.
Gold sinks (where gold is REMOVED from the economy) like mounts or recipes are DEFLATIONARY. It’s literally why they increased mount costs once they saw everyone was saving quests for gold.
Gdkp, boes, rare mats, etc. CAN be inflationary if they promote increased gold generation, either by players or bots, but these are not the same. Boes and mats operate according to supply and demand just like gdkp, but that potential RMT gold goes to ONE player and typically takes multiple transactions over weeks of playing to get distributed more broadly. Furthermore, those transactions are larger and less common, and thus much easier to audit for potential gold buying.
Gdkp funds on the other hand are immediately distributed to 10 players and can occur every 3 days for every character that’s capable of completing the raid. It’s also THE best gear in the game with few exceptions. The practice is more inflationary than rare mats and boes by multiple orders of magnitude, and is FAR more difficult to audit for RMT transactions.
Like you guys have been playing a game with simple supply and demand economics for TWO DECADES now, and some of you still don’t get it.
Unreal.
What are those people thinking?
“Some idiot will pay for it.”
And guess what? It happens they’re often right considering most of you are a sandwich short of a picnic basket.
