Legal is a very flimsy term here. They’re unsupported trades. They aren’t “against” the rules, but Blizzard has said many times they won’t enforce anything if you lose the gold, and they WILL ban you if they track it back to illicit sources.
Yes, it is. Just like “Receiving stolen property” is a crime in the US, even if you didn’t know.
the person needs to be aware they are receiving stolen property for that to be a crime and guess what? with wow gold u have absolutely no way of “being aware”
Which is basically impossible unless you watched the person vendor gray items for gold.
Most gold from items sold on the AH is partially from illicit sources, gold from trades in chat as well. Basically any gold that wasn’t farmed raw cannot be known by a player whether it is legit or not.
Consumes in naxx are the difference between clearing the content and the run being failed.
Nobody will force anyone, people who aren’t consuming just won’t get invited. And if a run is failed because someone failed to consume - they are unlikely to ever be welcomed into a naxx by the 39 people they screwed over.
Yes having full consumes I stated is what is needed to play good, you can prob cut it down by half and still not be griefing your raid. But go any lower than that are you are likely to be the reason the run is failed.
Most of that gold is from bots. Normal players simply do not have large amounts of organic gold to trade off. You are swapping with bots, or people who traded with bots, or people who took botted gold from GDKP pots.
I am tired of this totally dishonest argument that bots, gold swaps and GDKPs are not a racket and front for gold sellers and that it has not destroyed the game in every version. The economies of Era and Wrath are completely ridiculous and its not from honest play. I am glad they are doing everything they can to lessen or at least slow the destruction of SoD, including banning people in possession of gold that was botted at some time or another, and that the laundering and dissemination operation that was GDKP is gone. It’s a few steps in the right direction.
I doubt there is actual truth to this… if me and my friends are still playing by then, look forward to seeing how it goes… I feel we’ll have little to no real issue.
Good thing I’ll have friends and myself to set up our raid, plus who knows how many people will be needed for the raid.
Then the price needs to drop dramatically… no one should be forced into dropping 1500g just to attempt a raid. That’s an absurd ask.
tHe aH iS iLlIcIt. You’re comparing apples and oranges with AH and direct person to person trading.
Trading an item you legitimately farmed that is worth the amount you received is a “supported” trade. Key difference. Supported vs Non-Supported. It would be very obvious to Blizzard that you were acting in good faith while making that trade and I highly doubt you would be banned or lose your gold. This logic also applies to anything you sell/buy on the AH.
so now we are not only responsible for the person we are trading with having the legit gold, we have to know who they traded with as well, how far down the chain do i have to go before i can’t be held responsible for the actions of someone i have never met? this is pure insanity
sorry but the guy you traded gold with, his dad traded with a guy who traded with a guy who traded with a bot, i’m afraid its straight to jail with you
