24k Execution Sentence! potential design issue?

i personally would like to see things settle a several weeks into s1 before blizzard kneejerk nerfs things and we get 2 years of warlock/x/x again

people have always found a way to get through high damage numbers in the past and they are still currently doing so on the beta, the players that cannot adapt dont get rating, its always worked this way

Of course it’s the mages and warlocks making these threads, too much Bfa. Historically ret always becomes broken during prepatches, it probably has something to do with strength scaling as a hybrid, and there’s always people who complain about prepatchlow lvl twink bracket that get the spec nerfed to the point it’s lame for the rest of the actual expansion.

Mages and warlocks have basically been playing lowbie twink mode for years now, nothing is suposed to work fine in a prepatch, calm down.

Thank goodness enh is doing well on beta!! Because I’m ripping noobs in <ilvl 100 gear and I can’t wait to do that in SL.

this guy and i have a big ol 2v800 in a bg last night and then he turns around and makes hurtful jokes like this

if blue players weren’t masochists this would be really painful :<

Ret does a lot of damage on Beta, but in my experience, it’s not nearly as silly as pre-patch balancing is. I haven’t PVPed enough on Beta to really say whether or not it needs to be reigned in relative to other classes, but I’m wary of calling for nerfs this early on. I wouldn’t want Retribution to be reduced to chasing people in a wheelchair with a wiffle bat (again).

Ret is so broken right now. I hope they get nerf before SL!

Warrior isn’t bad atm. It’s also not good. Lack of self healing is kind of holding us back still. That’s just my opinion though.  :slightly_smiling_face:

Haha nope.

Execution Sentence damage probably just needs a damage cap. Otherwise Ret damage isn’t over the top at 60 without azerite traits

Game is fun when it’s fast paced and Tanks are supposed to bring some burst like when they were perfectly balanced in WotLK.

The suspense is killing me
was it the one and only big doz?! :joy::joy:

It wasn’t just some random warrior

I personally prefer getting hit for 13k when I accidentally dispel a UA, whoopsies :ok_woman:

Yeah no it’s not.

Pick one, because you don’t get to have both - ever.

That’s disappointing

You can spell reflect ES first off.

Second the high damage hit requires 3 different talents plus wings plus an on use trinket. Setup is like this:

Attack to 5 holy power, make sure target has a judgment debuff and reckoning debuff. Wings/trinket & seraphim same global, build HP, Final reckoning, Execution sentence.

After that they have to hit you with wake and probably 1-2 TV in that 8 second window. The ability by itself isn’t overturned, it’s a combination of the following buffs:

20% damage and Crit chance (wings)
8% vers, Crit, haste,& 13% mastery ( seraphim)
20% finisher damage (judgment)
10% finisher damage (reckoning proc)
50% finisher damage (Final Reckoning debuff)
Main stat trinket
X3 Avengers might (60% mastery)

All of that and to get the wombo hit you still have to get hit by 2 spenders plus wake during the 8 second window. So what you see as a one shot is really around 20 seconds of full dps when you haven’t peeled or used a defensive.

If you want to stop it, when you see final reckoning run or use cc. When I duel other rets I never die to ES because I don’t grow roots when they start the dps process. If I don’t trinket the follow up KS to a sub rogue I die, but rets aren’t allowed to kill after 15 seconds?
