Would be cool to have a 24/7 instanced pvp mode that is focused around constant honor gains, conquest and maybe plays similar to WvW or Cyrodiil with map control. Big and Small map nodes to promote zerg play and small groups. Not just a weekly mode thrown in here and there. But something constant with longevity and faction balance built into it(doesnt have to be horde vs alliance)
So… fix Warmode?

HA, shards have been unbalanced for years. i can’t ever get a crate unless im in a premade group cause of all the sharding garbage.
PvP is an afterthought in WoW because it’s an afterthought for the playerbase. This idea sounds cool in theory until you realize that next to nobody would play it, because the overwhelming majority of WoW players simply don’t want to play against other players.

What useless response tbh, If you dont enjoy pvp in general then dont comment on it, Making an instanced 24/7 pvp map that includes map controls and pvp currency/reward tracks arent some huge developmental focus that will interfere with the pve playerbase. If you dont pvp then thats fine but dont goto a pvp post and just say “uhhh noone play pvp so noone who does play pvp should have a new form of content” its just unneeded and simple minded. I dont goto posts about delves and go “uhh i dont have any delve friends on my list or a community thats exclusively delve players so why should blizz make content for them” its like saying that about pet battlers and other types of players.
Does anybody even still use war mode for anything other than the reward system like the extra experience points so they can then get to endgame and start playing mythic plus?
Ya unfortunately warmode is a complete joke and mostly used by levelers and pve skinners/farmers. To find someone actually willing to fight in warmode is a dime a dozen, its one of the main reasons I didnt mention wm because i know for certain blizz couldnt fix wm if they tried to, flying zones and pvp has NEVER been a good combo, which is why i said an instanced 24/7 map control mode like WvW or cyrodiil would make so much more sense and be rewarding for all types of pvpers (zergs or small groups/gankers) if they did the nodes right the big groups fight at the big nodes(map control) and small groups contest the smaller ones(usually resource nodes/world buffs for all on their side) It would even give incentive for ppl who work nightshift to just hop on and start fighting at 5-7am or whatever lol rn the queues are so bad at night its not even worth logging on to solely pvp
Massive fights do not work in WoW.
Go back to Classic. Preferably to an era before DKs existed, because they completely ruin any concept of that working.
We have Classic Ashran Brawl that is endless. It’s fun to stay there for hours.
I mean, if we’re being completely honest with all cards on the table here there have only been two types of PVP in this game since the day it launched.
- Open world which was 95% stalking and killing a lower level characters and 5% actual same level PVP
- Instanced PVP where you can farm honor and conquest all day every day without any real risk of being camped
And if we’re being super honest, this is less about player versus player and more about player vs stunlocks/roots. I think if they removed those two specific mechanics from PVP it might be a lot more popular and if in the open world, it scaled the attacker to the defenders level, It could be legitimate player versus player and not just level 80 versus level 26.
To be fair ill give blizz credit in those 40v40 ebgs, i never encounter lag there, and in gw2 and eso i never get huge lag in cyrodiil or wvw because its all instanced and fully optimized to handle big fights, WM is optimized for pve and pve only, its basically just a shard where you occasionally find ppl. Big fights in WM dont work. Big fights in instanced pvp does work because the game is optimized to handle it
No hate but this is not a “Fix WM” or “Make wpvp fair and fun” type of post, My idea is a better instanced mode where any type of pvp player can thrive in and have reward tracks like in WvW on Gw2
Rn theres nothing like cyrodiil or WvW and those are some of the greatest instanced combat modes ive seen for pvp. Im personally surprised blizz didnt copy it like they did with the dragonflying
Servers hold up fine for PVP instances, it’s the mechanics that don’t work. Murderballs bashing into each other don’t work.
Either you have a shot caller picking the next target to get globaled, a DK gripping some poor sucker in to get 20v1’d, or the blenders just sit there chewing at each other with nobody really dying.
WPVP does happen in warmode, and it’s usually a 5-stack party racking up bounties while they kill dummies who keep ignoring their healer. And if they happen to have 2 healers then log out because you aren’t killing any of them.
We used to have 24/7 PVP mode… but too many people complained about being PVP’d.
ESO style mass battle I wouldn’t be opposed too, anything to add more PVP.
Well, no offense, but I play a lot of PVP and I’ve never heard of either of those games. I think they only steal stuff that people actually hear about. Anyway, I’ll leave you all to it.
