2400 blitz

I am seeing so many blitz haters…

I just hit 2400 for the first time in my life in blitz today and I have to say I had fun getting here.

This game mode is perfect for someone like me.

Thanks blizz

Ps: I understand that lots of people don’t like seething shore but please don’t get rid of any more maps for blitz.

Blitz is dumb, lose 6 in a row, -60 rating, then win one gain +12 rating. Rinse and repeat

I’m sure some pvpers don’t like it, as people have pointed out so many issues in Blitz. But Blitz mode is what kept me from leaving this game, so yeah it’s perfect for me and many other casual pvpers too.

First of all, rating is on promotion, right? I feel it’s kinda inflated.

It also offers a space for casual pvp players who feel frustrated in random and epic bgs.

My game time is fragmented, so I avoid anything that requires a lot of commitment, no raids, no rated pvp, and I’ve only done M+ dungeon runs for two seasons. I used to mostly stick to epic bgs and I played a lot of them.

Unfortunately, right now there are so many premades in epic bgs that make it not very enjoyable for a solo casual player like me. Blitz is like a faster version of regular bg with MMR system, so I treat it as just another random bg to play and I like it.

Blitz has addressed several issues in random bgs:

  1. At least the premade issue isn’t as noticeable as it is in epic bgs.

  2. Both teams start with the same number of players and healers. Something like 13 healers vs 1 healer has been a major problem in regular/epic bgs for too long. Maybe arena and rbg players don’t care, but this is the reason I wanted to cancel my subscription.

  3. 90% of players focuses on objectives, and at least nobody says things like “You’re not my daddy.”

  4. It gives casual players a chance to team up with some really skilled pvp players. Once you get on a winning streak and your MMR rises, half of your team can end up being gladiators or hero of alliance/horde, this is something I have never seen in random bgs. Well, of course this can also be a downside for Blitz, as I’m sure R1 players don’t enjoy playing with less experienced teammates LOL.

Its a good game mode. Its definitely more objective based than RSS and thats why it catches heat. I like it because its a different playstyle than 50+ actions per minute RSS… that first elite of the season is sweaty though. I got lucky and had a stacked team of legends I always stole builds from for my final game to 2400. It was a great experience but I haven’t que’d in over a month at this point because the ques for shuffle as a healer are instant and time is money friend.

Enjoy the victory.

Yes genius when you win 1 game and lose 6 your rating rightfully decreases. Thats how literally any competitive game works.

DUH REALLY, I did not know that. WOW THANK YOU. My point was the it needs to balance a bit better because its not like 2v2 or 3v3 where you chose you team, Blitz is random and out of your hands who you are grouped with

That’s nearly as bad as your first statement. Bg blitz rating is already entirely free. If you are consistently losing 6 games for every win it’s likely a YOU issue. Ahh nvm valak you are just a troll you’ve only qued a single battleground blitz game and have gone 9-27 in solo shuffle lmao! Yeah man awesome trolling you are hilarious

You mean 0.

Lose 6 for -19 each, win 1 and get no rating.

My record is winning 3 straight for no rating. :+1:

If you got rating after a 6 game losing streak, I wouldn’t be mad at all. The hit to your personal MMR is significantly greater than the hit to your CR. Then, you don’t get rating because your CR is now higher than your MMR. :wastebasket:

There’s nothing wrong with Blitz if you are always on the winning side. Having a high damage profile helps, but even then it’s complete luck with what comp you get and what kind of players you get.

I was having such a hard time with Rdruid in SS, stuck forever in the 1400-1500 range because how the spec performs. If the dps can’t resolve the match fast enough, my healing ends up doing almost nothing because it feels like the Dampening effect hits Rdruids harder than other healers.

I gave up and tried to climb in the BGBs instead and I’m having a good time, because at least I feel like I’m being able to do something. Plus, like you said - people (usually) actually try to win, and most of the losses are by a small difference, as opposed to the regular BGs being a total obliteration sometimes; so despite the eventual name calling, losing a battleground in competitive play doesn’t really feel that bad.

They just need to fix this:

The best asset you can bring to Solo BGs for your own sanity and success is a chill casual attitude. By all means work hard, work as a team to get objectives and points will come. Keeping a good attitude helps you with decision-making when things are going poorly and I’ve seen games that looked like losses that were turned into wins. Even when you do lose, remember you are only 1/16th of the match participation, cant take all the credit for a win, but you also can’t take all the blame for a loss. Try your best, and if it doesnt work out, try again. I got lucky on my MM hunter and some games did have some crazy good players on my teams. Saw folks making RBG level call outs and sending the perfect amount of reinforcements needed. Ping marking kill targets as needed, ping marking enemies when they were relocating to new objectives so we knew who was where and how to respond. Saw a random friendly healer appear just before I got opened up on by an enemy stealthy like the healer had a premonition I was going to be in danger soon. Solo BG has been averaged out as an overall excellent experience.

Just hit 1721 CR and playing at 2.1k MMR, is this normal?
BTW, have not played many games 21-14, oh this is on Stryper my Paladin.

As MM I was 2500 MMR most of the journey from 1800CR to a bit over 2200CR. It is normal.

Something so simple, like counting the number of opponents coming to a cap point and calling out with very short words “mines inc 3” really helps a TON, even if that’s about the only thing you say or read on the chat.

Even in a 1x3 scenario where you’d surely lose, depending on the spec, you may have enough defensives to not die at least until a few people come to avoid the cap.

Having call outs is good, but it was having adequate reinforcements super fast that blew my mind. Thanked them for playing like pros when aid was called for.

My only issue with Blitz is the MMR. I often play over 2100 in arena and I was stuck 1500 in Blitz until I stopped queuing for it because winning as Horde was difficult, you feel like you have to play for 3 persons, and when you finally win you get 12 rating points. If there’s no point or rewards I will just play unrated BG.

MMR is inflated now anyway, I am mostly waiting for the second season so it gets reset.

Blitz is probably the most fun I’ve ever had in WoW.
