Access to this realm requires an account with a valid access license. (wow51900337)

Bought the Epic Pack, I am on the correct account – WOW1 (the one I played the beta on). I PAID for a subscription on this one too --just to be sure-- and, if I try to create a character I get: “Access to this realm requires an account with a valid access license. (wow51900337).”

Understand please, there are no additional drop down accounts or regional errors or something or other account trickery that needs such and such attending to. It’s all the US where I am, everything is as it normally should work – as it did during the beta.

There are lots of people experiencing this error, and it would be nice to get some kind of notice or acknowlegdement. I realize there’s a little chaos right now, and I’ve seen customer support give different varying answers to this problem and MVP’s take different stabs at it – everything is in order, there is something wrong on Blizzard’s side.

That isn’t the license that the Skyborne Epic Pack is on. You appear to have attached it to the named WoW license, not WoW#1.

If your main account is WoW#1, you’ll want to request a refund for the purchase on your other license and purchase it on that one. If your intent is to play on the named license, make sure you are selecting that when attempting to log in.

It does seem that you created a few characters on Forever so I’m guessing you figured that out.

Just for clarification, the one you played on beta would be your beta account. It may have listed itself as WoW#1, but it wasn’t your active WoW#1 license, it was the PTR/BETA WoW#1. It can get a little confusing. O.o

I appreciate your response: but I don’t know how to request a refund to then get it attached to whatever it needs to be attached to (I wish Blizzard would put out a course on this). Can you help understand how I made the error, how I “buy it correctly” again, and maybe even why would a license have the option to be attached to certain sub-accounts (under one email) and not others.

To request a refund you can use the following link. There is a self-help option that should go through your recent purchases. You can select the order if it shows up to make the request. If the system says it qualifies you’ll be able to put in the request.

If not, you should be able to put in a ticket still and a Game Master will review your request.

For purchasing on the correct license, when you go to purchase the Skyborne Pack or Collection you should be given a list of WoW licenses that you can add it to. It’ll look something like this:

So you’ll want to make sure to select your named license, if that was the one you wanted to play on.

Got it! Thank you for your help. Now if I can just figure out how to log in with my Wow1 account on here, lol.

Logging into any of the versions of World of Warcraft should provide a dropdown menu, if you have multiple WoW licenses.

Here is the newer layout:

Here is if you use the older one:

Just select the mode you want from one of the icons above, and/or the game version dropdown has some of them too.

I think they were talking about logging in with the right account on the Forums, but I could be mistaken.

Perhaps. You don’t usually log in with a specific WoW license on the forums, it’s the Bnet account. What characters you have available to post on usually depends on which licenses are active, how long ago they might have been logged into, etc…

Yeah, I just figured the way the posting character looked maybe they didn’t know how to change it and assumed the thinking behind it was similar is all
