We’ve seen your feedback that achievable PvP ratings are not meeting expectations, so we’re applying a significant increase to PvP rating inflation starting now for all rated PvP modes with emphasis on Battleground Blitz, Rated Battlegrounds, and Rated 3v3 Arena.
As with past changes to inflation, this adjustment is intended to improve progression as the season continues and support healthier ladder movement. We’ll continue monitoring rating distribution and make further adjustments as necessary.
Thank you for your continued feedback and we’ll see you on the battlefield!
All good, we just love to incentivize not playing the game till Daddy blizzard remembers to juice inflation.
Every decision this company has made in the last 10 years unironically has been so terrible for PvP it’s hilarious.
Now the only way to fix that decade of mismanagement is to hand out glad for free lmao. Reminder, when they adjusted it originally they said, verbatim, “We want to maintain the prestige and difficulty of Gladiator”.
Why do you guys not just front load inflation every season so participation doesn’t sit stagnate while people wait for you to artificially inflate brackets, or just remove artificial inflation all together?
Surely you guys have some people on staff who took enough math in college to roughly estimate where you want difficulty to be, and actively maintain it each season? I’m willing to bet this can even be automated so you no longer even need to worry about it.
Exploit tier specs getting 3k cr/mmr week one then sitting it on and collecting another 1k mmr not ideal
Seasons are basically staggered out into different phases: we start with gearing, alts, casually trying stuff out, progress into full gear and partial pushing, and mid-late and late season are finalizing pushes
For some reason people think not being elite by accident in the first week means the season is bad
Tier needs disabled in PVP. They can’t balance anything, and it’s never designed with PVP in mind. Better to just make PVP content that deals with straight secondary stats so it doesn’t take them 4 months to make the content not feel awful every season.
Spec could play no tier and be excellent, although now everybody gets tier.
It doesn’t really matter. Them holding onto tier for the “season flavor” and cross-content compatibility is a little weird, though, and just going back to gloves making kick have a 1 sec shorter cd or counterspell having a longer range or something would be fine.
Can use pvp tier bonus to just give honor talents, even.
