Hi Kaivax, any news on flat cut off for gladiator this season? participation is much lower than first season.
Kindly offer a generous flat cutoff to this season. PvP is on the brink of extinction and if we don’t allow rewards to be more accessible, then I’m afraid there won’t be enough players for next season.
Hey remove 2s from glad in mop (like how original mop was). Make people queue 3s or bust.
3s is dead because people can queue 2s, and 2s has almost zero skill expression. The amount of potatoes that are sitting R1 and glad is absurd. Like we have players who I’m certain couldn’t get duelist in retail, sitting at R1 right now because of unbalanced 2s nonsense.
As someone who thought OG mop s14/15 was the best pvp we’ve ever had in wow, we’re on the road right now to another season of the worst.
I agree, something needs to change soon. A good alternative to keep everyone happy would be to double the current number of Rank 1 and Gladiator spots coming from 3s arena. 3s will become the more favorable route to take for rewards, without taking away from 2s and 5s.
any news on cutoffs?
note of what apparently is a bug in the award system metric
season 12 had the original metrics designed instead of flat cutoffs
“Flat cutoffs for the number of R1 and Gladiator titles was intended to be a backup system, should a season have low participation, that would reward players who played at an elite level regardless of the number of participants.”
It seems the minimum spots/flat cutoff metric is currently being used (xunamate external link, cutoffs showing 20 unique and total ladder participation, not permissible due to forum disabling hyperlinks)shows 20 unique spots in 3s despite 6420 being on the 3s ladder; which dramatically exceeds the threshold of .01% as it is currently ~.0047% of players in 3v3 getting rank 1 due to the wrong metric being applied
Season 12 showed ~50 unique spots for 9701 players being on ladder for 3v3
So there is currently 40% of the spots with 66% of the participation
Notably the threshold minimums are greatly exceeded in 3v3 and 2v2 as this simple comparison shows; and I believe most of the community would join my request that the appropriate metric be applied
Whatever the amount of spots for R1 and Glad is, it needs to be a juicy amount. This isn’t the time to be picky. Nobody is going to scrap over breadcrumbs.
This one decision will dictate the success of the next 2 seasons. We’ll either have the best experience we could ever dream of, or a dystopian nightmare like no other.
thats absolute facts,i ended at 2500 and 400 spots higher than last spot for glad in season 12, and it took me a minute to get there
if i end up on duelist because the system chose to not reward me im not putting this work again
I second Angryrocker’s proposal to adjust the number of Rank 1 spots in the arena brackets.
Why should fewer players than usual receive Rank 1 titles this season? Participation is already significantly lower than it was during original Mists of Pandaria, and maintaining the current allocation will only make an already difficult title even less attainable.
More importantly, failing to address this issue risks further shrinking an arena community that is already struggling with participation. Rank 1 titles have always been one of the primary incentives for players to continue queueing, competing, and pushing throughout the season. If the number of available titles does not appropriately reflect the current player population, many players will simply stop participating altogether.
The solution proposed above is reasonable, preserves the prestige of the title, and helps ensure that Season 13 remains healthy and competitive. I strongly encourage the developers to review the current Rank 1 allocations and make an adjustment before the season concludes.
Largely agree- would be very nice to get some insight from Blizzard on this
i third on this homies, they know the jam, and check glad spots while there
Well said, Natty. I’ll have a thorough response of my own once I’ve gathered my thoughts.
Let’s be honest, R1/Glad these last 2 seasons have almost zero vanity. 2s is a cesspool. I’ve never seen this many FOTM rerollers in a single season. The class disparity is just a joke at this point.
Only way for Mop to get any sort of competitive atmosphere is removing 2s from titles, like it was in OG mop. I’d even go a step further and not allow it in 5s either.
thats a hard no, we need a more rewarding game, not less
do we expect s2 gear to be purchasable with honor within the coming week?
The game should reward skill. 2s doesn’t do that. I don’t think a single good player will be upset about 3s being the outlet for titles.
I do know there will be hundreds of MWs, Warriors, and Hunterds (and some mediocre mages) unhappy about it though.
let me guess, you are an omega skilled multi r1 player hidden behind a lvl 11 dracthyr
no1 cares about this yapping homie, no1 cares on how skilled you think you are, we are here to have fun on a rerelease of a 15 year version of a game
your peers came with this very same talking about how 3s should be the only bracket in cata, and blizzard listened, and this very people quit when cata came and let every1 who enjoyed the current format stuck with a version we didnt ask for
if you wanna be competitive try qualifying for awc and stop forcing
imagine talking skill on a rerelease of a solved game
You shouldn’t be rewarded for being 2500. You’re almost 200 points off, womp womp que again next season. I’ll see you around when i’m on my serpent peasant
