Yesterday, we implemented the hotfixes described above to support core gameplay in instances in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary. Unfortunately, these changes were impaired by bugs that did not appear in our pre-release testing. The result was unintended behavior of drops for both solo and group players. For example: one bug resulted in some players becoming completely disallowed from rolling on loot.
With an update we sent to the live game a few minutes ago, we have reverted the original changes while we investigate these bugs.
Thank you for your feedback.
We’ve observed a significant number of Burning Crusade players entering dungeons and then participating in no meaningful gameplay, often while only one party member plays through the instance. When this is prominent, it can lead to detrimental economic effects, among other concerns, so we’re implementing a series of hotfixes to address it.
The Burning Crusade Classic
Dungeons
Players must participate in combat to receive experience from dungeons.
The amount of loot dropped by non-boss enemies in high-level dungeons is now determined by how many players participate in the kill.
The vast majority of players who participate in dungeon groups as usual should see no difference after these updates.
These changes will go into effect with scheduled weekly maintenance in each region.
What if instead of wasting so much time doing these non sense changes and banning gameplay loops that have been around since before 90% of you had jobs at blizzard you actually just banned gold buyers
I would also like to know if this targets 50-60 dungeons. Because this is a serious pain in the , almost makes me not want to play anymore and I was already on verge of raidlogging.
Do you guys have any plans to actually improve the game for anyone? Or do you just plan on these unnecessary changes negatively impacting the community? So it’s ok for YOU to offer an in-game boost to 58 for money, but it’s not ok to leverage in-game currency to help someone level? Most players buy your in-game boost so they can get to max level quicker. Sounds like a good way to drop sub count in an already stale-content patch. You’ll let 500 people run around with ‘Mommymilk’ in their names, but this is what you’re focused on? Actual pathetic decision making - you guys must just sit around bored looking for useless tasks to fill your sprint cycle.
this has gotta be the most out of touch bullhonkey i’ve seen from you guys since banning gdkp.
actually unreal how you guys just want tbc to be nuked into nothingness with these terrible changes that no one asked for. Here’s an idea, fix the game in the parts that are broken ya dummies.
Does this screw me from farming gear on my main for an alt in vanilla content?
I typically clear on my 70 and bring my alt in for boss kills. But, they’re not always capable of participating in combat. Just moving to the safe zone so I can master loot gear to them with guild help. A lot of this content you can’t get groups for.
Just ban the practice and hire GMs. Have the GMs ban all accounts permanently if they do not stop when the GMs tell them to stop.
It’s going to be impossible to level enchanting if 10-60 dungeons get hit with this nerf too. Enchanting is already one of the most expensive, and it’s going to get a lot worse if this affects more than 60-70 dungeons.
wild take…anniversary is accelerated..how about more rep and xp for questing..u have shorter time to play and enjoy the expansion. if questing is the way to go then maybe living in dungeons wont be as desirable? higher floor, lower ceiling on arena cap so everyone can have a chance to get some arena gear b4 season ends. have some catch up arena pts obtainable at half way through season. p2 add 1 more item per boss in old raids maybe even heroics/normal dungeons. also, does this mean if i don’t cleave an npc before it dies, my efforts on cc’ing or killing another target isn’t taken into consideration?
