So Blizzard, when are you finally going to accept the fact that killing 10 man guilds and forcing guilds to run 20+ player rosters was a bad idea?
We all know that in the current state of the game content is significantly easier on normal/heroic flex-raid mode if you bring 30 people, so why is it that the majority of the groups in the raid finder are running 10 mans? It seems to me 10 man raiding is what the community wants. I think it’s about time Blizzard stopped with the whole “you think you want it, but you don’t” attitude or giving us a Coke when we asked for a Pepsi and actually do something that a large portion of the community wants.
Oh and arguments that revolve around balancing are meaningless. We had 10 and 25 man raids for years and everything was just fine. Some fights were harder on 10 man, some fights were harder on 25 man. If Blizzard can figure out how to balance flex raiding from 10-30 people, there is absolutely no reason why they can’t balance mythic raiding for 10 players.
For those of you that are going to argue against 10 man raiding, let’s see some legitimate reasons why you think those of us that want 10 man raiding shouldn’t get it.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I DO NOT want anything taken away from the game. I don’t want to screw over anyones 20 man group, 30 man group or whatever people have going. I want the ability to do the hardest difficulty content in a 10 man setting and not be forced into a 20 man group.
EDIT2: Another great point someone brought up is the fact that Mythic raiding guilds are forced to carry a roster of 24-26 players in most cases in order to stay active/competitive.
The amount of people playing this game has greatly decreased and it doesn’t make sense to require such large groups in order to raid. 10 man guilds were the pinnacle of WoW raiding and community. There was nothing better than being part of a tight-knit 10 man raiding guild, I have personally made several life-long friends because of it, but unfortunately they have no interest in playing this game if we are unable to raid as a 10 man guild again.

2/2/6 is a fluke cause of certain particularity of how nzoth fight scales with people, making the fight alot easier with 2/2/6. didn’t see that in the past 3 tiers.
Nothing to do with Community desire. Flex raid size is very nice.

If that was the only reason people were running 2/2/6 they would be skipping straight to N’Zoth instead of full clearing, which from what I have been seeing is not the case.
I have no problem with flex raids. The ability to pickup/drop players is great and I think it should stay. I do however have a problem with the fact that 10 man is no longer an option for hard mode, which was in my opinion the best raiding this game has ever offered.
In my opinion the absolute best thing they could do with raiding without ruining any guilds (like they did with 10 man guilds) is simply make 10-30 man flex raiding the main raid difficulty and bring back Ulduar style hard modes that you activate during the fight by performing some special mechanic or something. You have a 20 man group? Great, you can keep your 20 man group and nothing changes! You want to shrink down to a 10 man group? Great, you can do that as well!

Being a part of the 10-man A-team that raided in addition to the 25-man team was the best of times

The only reason flex raiding isn’t available for Mythic is because Blizzard is worried about the effect it will have on world first guilds like Method.

Most of us just stuck with 10 man and pugged 25
Unfortunately I believe you are exactly right and I believe that is the whole reason they removed 10 man raiding. They didn’t want to mans taking any glory away from the big 25 man (now 20 man) guilds. A very piss-poor design choice as far as I’m concerned, but it probably made the big boy guilds happy I suppose.

Man, I had no social life.
My guild raided 25man then the 10-man team went ahead and pushed progression on off-nights to help carry on the 25man team. It was great.
That’s exactly what my friends and I always did. We ran our own 10 man and if we got a wild hair up our butt and decided to do 25 man we would just pug it and kill whatever we could.
I loved 10 man raiding back in Wrath. My guild had a tight group of core raiders that would do it and then we will run guild 25 content on the weekends for those that weren’t really into raiding and just wanted to see the story line and get some gear.

Yup. we’d do our 10 man twice a week and then sat night we’d pug it. Not everyone and not every week but it was a lot of fun bc you met a lot of people. Seemed ICC was most prevelant time for this style and tbh is still my favorite raid i never got bored of no matter how many times my pug wiped on putricide

Because that statement is false. More people means more chances at failing mechanics.
2/2/6 absolutely trivializes the nzoth fight. You can have all 6 dps with grey/green parses and still kill the boss on heroic.
OP: Some fights favor fewer people, some favor more.

You can go into a 30 man raid and have half your raid die and still win if the alive half is doing their job. Try going into a 10 man raid and having half your raid die and see what happens. Bringing more people to flex raids is absolutely easier.

Good luck. The raids scale based on the n UK number of players. If half the raid died and the boss still died, the alive half was carrying hard. Also, ilganoth.
