When light turns to wrath, only ashes will remain. The story continues after the events of the “Intercession” cinematic. As Arator stands against the forces of the Void, Xal’atath’s insinuations invade his mind, imparting a grim portent that the Light’s righteous fury, when left unchecked, may prove just as dangerous as the darkness it seeks to destroy.
Arator is Anduin’s replacement.
Poor Anduin’s out of a job ![]()
Nice cinematic though ![]()

Oh this goes haaaard
FURY RET COMBO WHEN BLIZZ???
Why was this 10x better than the original xpac trailer? Why does this also tell us nothing at the same time? Did everyone die and the Sunwell is gone now? D:
Let the loading screen and wait-in-line queues commence! lol
On a side note… I’m getting the 504 gateway error. ![]()
Anduin is weak, pathetic and lacks testosterone.
It was a mistake in Shadowlands to choose that disgrace over an Arthas redemption. Hell, they could’ve had Arthas soul fuse with Anduin’s, hardening him into a strong-willed individual like his Mother and Father.
Anduin — as the Bible describes — is lame in posture and impotent. We need a replacement and Arator could be just what we need.
That is exactly what i thought while watching it. Arator is the new Anduin.
I love the depiction of the light just radiating from him. That’s like a throwback to the battle of blackrock mountain when his dad finally “found his faith” before defeating Orgrim Doomhammer.
“Now confident in his faith, the young paladin unleashed his holy powers, turning his Light to wrath and blind rage. The Light radiated out from Turalyon, blinding all around him, including Doomhammer, and bringing the fighting to a standstill.”

This helped me settle my dilemma. I’m leveling paladin first.
Love that they hid it till the expansion launch. So satisfying to have a surprise cinematic in the middle of the story.
Great cinematic. I noticed a shift though, a lot of these cinematics now have that feel like it should be placed between events in-game. The initial launch cinematic also had that feel to me. Maybe I’m just a weirdo, lol, but anyway, great little cinematic and I like the visual shift in how the character models look.
Sadly I’ve been made to promise waiting on my Paladin for my spouse’s starting the expac. But, hopefully Demon Hunter is a good substitute.
Dang, he’s uggy. Must be his human side showing ![]()
My goodness I want to dual wield like that now. LOL
Also: thanks for finally making Arator an adult, Blizz!
It is in game as part of a quest. It was nice surprise when it played. It’s just weird that Blizzard are the ones spoiling it for people who haven’t started playing yet.
Ahh ok, so my read was right, just was assuming it was part of some cinematic to hype midnight per se. Makes sense then after what you said… also agree it’s a shame they didn’t wait at least ‘till next week. I feel they were using it to advertise the early access as I saw on X.
Aren’t Vereesa’s elf/human kids also described as being ugly by someone in the lore? I guess that’s just a regular thing for half elves.
More of the same.
I miss when blizz made good cinematics that really pumped you up. Now its just fem dudes going boohoohoo muh feelings.
They are.
The Campaign starts immediately after the Trailer ends.
Then a couple quests later you meet up with Arator, and the events of this cinematic just happened right before you get there, essentially. You ask him what happened and the cinematic plays.
My question at this point is….when does/did the Liadrin Cinematic happen?
OMG this was amazing! @_@
Bravo Blizz Bravo!!!
Also why does his hair, beard, and tats look a bazillion times better in the ultra real CGI than in-game.
