Hello, it has come to my attention that when you free xfer your char to the new destination realms you lose 500-700mmr. Is this intentional? Is there a fix? This massive oversight could greatly impact season 1 participation if not quickly addressed.
Hello!
There was an issue during the release of 5.5.1 where highly-rated Arena players who transferred could have experienced a partial reset in their matchmaking rating.
This resulted in some players playing multiple matches that would grant them 0 rating for a win (as their MMR had to catch back up). This could take a while, and having to play like this in multiple brackets could become demotivating.
The initial issue was fixed quickly, so it only ended up affecting a very small number of players in this region.
With the latest server reset on Tuesday for this region, we have corrected the matchmaking ratings of affected players to be slightly below their current rating. Of course, players who played enough in the interim to bring their MMR back up to their current rating in a bracket did not receive an adjustment, as they had already corrected it for themselves.
Itās all cleared up now!
Hey want to unlock Legacy servers? Many people want to restore characters.
Doesnāt this only partly address the issue?
Only reason I say this is because multiple characters have played games since the transfer āaccidentā happened and MMR has been significantly stagnant because everyone has been losing MMR back down to around the 2k~ mark. Maybe an inflation bump considering everyone who is average (2200-2400 players) is playing around 2k right now.
I have a random pic from sept 19 of 2v2 arena and R1 has gone up 21 points from 2527 to 2548, glad up 11 points from 2286 to 2297, duelist has stayed the same at 1972, rival has gone down 3 points from 1692 to 1689 and challenger has gone down 11 points from 1378 to 1367.
Itās wild to think 60% of the pvpers are below 1350. Definitely kills motivation on random people thinking they will go for the 2k xmog and get hardstuck 1350-1500 rating.
The MMR system has always been flawed for classic and has required inflation to help limp it along. Not sure why Blizzard hasnāt added it in yet for MoP since we are 2+ months into it already.
Kairvax, Iām begging you, since you seem to be the only blue active here:
My post history tells the story. Iāve been trying for a week to get clarification on whether the kneecapping of the ability of Paid Server Transfers to move characters OFF of Grobbulus and ONTO the new Virtual Realms that were spawned out of Pagle is intentional, or if its a bug, or if its something that will be changed or ended at some point. My guild has been together, from Classic 2019 ā Hardcore ā SoD ā Cata Classic ā MoP Classic, and if weāre going to relocate, we want to do it together. Iām coordinating 30+ people on multiple characters and alts each, to paid server transfer. This is a set of multi-hundred-dollar transactions. Thereās even a sale on server transfers, as @Fwoibles mentioned in the realm-consolidation-FAQ. And yet those transfers donāt work as advertised, having a complete exclusion on targetting the Virtual Realms, despite no announcement of that, no indication of that, and not a peep on this forum from @Fwoibles, or from anyone EXCEPT you, since the FAQ post.
Weāre feeling burnt, taken advantage of, and smothered. Weāve tried tickets, weāve tried twitter, weāve tried the CS forum, this forum, everything we can think of, and no one can provide an answer, or seemingly cares to. We want to keep playing together, and weāre open to spending hundreds of dollars to do it. But we canāt get a simple, straightforward answer, and with the level of pinging, tagging, messaging, ticket-writing, posting etc., that weāve done, that no longer feels like āweāre drowned out by the crowdā, it feels like a targetted choice to ignore the questions being asked.
On behalf of my guild, my friends, myself, and everyone else trying to leave Grobbulus for ANY reason - please, can you look into this issue, and let us know whats happening, why, and if/when itāll be fixed?
