I am deep fire, have been since phase 1. It’s definitely a viable build although the resistance/immunity in ony/mc/bwl is a pain. Pom is fun, but not worth putting 21 points in the arcane tree imo. You have to give up a lot of good fire talents to get there

What I said is applicable to pvp too. You use your Pom cooldown, then what? Look at all the great fire talents you give up for pom

There exists absolutely no reason to go fire in premades wthout pom or improved CS.

Ultimately you are missing the entire point of bringing a fire mage; flag returns - and offense/mid fights to a lesser degree. Without pom or imp cs, a frost mage is faaaaaar more valuable than a gimped deep fire.
Yeah PoM pyro is a great spec as a 2nd mage in a WSG premade. The ability to potentially delete a FC is amazing since not much else will easily kill a really good druid other than getting 5+ people on them.
For honor farming premades I would argue that its still much better to just be frost since very skilled druids are rare and frost feels a lot better for stomping pugs and bad premades.
Agree with you for the most part. Though in pugs I actually really enjoy fire considering the ultimate glass cannon potential.

Fire in bgs is a thing? Lol. Ill take a frost mage so can keep multiple people from capping while people rez, come help any day of the week. Survivability in bgs is king not pew pew.
Yeah you still bring a frost mage its more for 2 mage wsg comps for extra burst on fc. Maybe less a thing on horde since u got ele shaman anyway.

It doesn’t matter if you’re gimped if someone else is already dead.
PvP is about burst, not sustained DPS.
People decked out will always be crazy in classic, with better gear you get tons of damage with more survivability.
It’s like bringing an ele shaman to just destroy the flag carrier.
You’re using high burst specs to return flags.
Each spec or class in a wsg premade is typically there for a reason.
