2100 2v2 408 ilvl 71 games played

The bar to entry feels significantly lower than WoD. Stepping in on a boosted WoD toon was horrendous. I know this because I boosted a ton of characters in WoD. Gear does matter at the high end, but pretending you can’t push any kind of rating unless you’re 440+ is laughable. I’d venture to say you could slam out 2200 3v3 at 415-425 ilvl, given you had solid teammates. I don’t find this too terrible considering you will be gearing up along the way.

The vast majority of comments on your topic were positive including one from Dilly. Abombination complained which is par for the course because that’s literally all he ever did.

i don’t think we’re both reading this thread with the exact right amount of cynicism. maybe you had to know these people, lol

You must be entirely disilusioned from reality if this is actually your argument

You are saying WoD, the xpac that had PvP vendors and a conquest catch up mechanic for missed weeks and all you needed to deal with was a max leveled character and then getting your PvP gear which could be grinded out in a day with catch up, was much harder to step into compared to now where if you want an optimally geared character for PvP you need to get time gated essences, azerite pieces, azerite neck levels, and optimal stats of gear from rng

WoD was the only xpac I ever saw people having like 9 characters of the same class because gearing up was that easy

As for everything else you’re missing out that you’re going to be playing significantly lower than your skill level if you’re undergeared, so much lower when compared to what you could expect in the past lmao AND it’s harder to gear. Like a r1/glad level player achieving 2200 which is significantly lower than what they normally play at isn’t saying much but there’s no way you get real games until fully geared which takes forever

Do you not know what bar to entry means? A boost starting out in WoD was at a huge disadvantage by comparison. You progressed towards being fully optimized quicker, but the initial entry point left you significantly disadvantaged compared to a boost now.

It wasn’t that bad at all even back then lmfao

Hence why R1 ladder with green geared rogue in WoD, hence why people had gotten R1 in wotlk with 2 seasons behind PvP gear etc.

You were just super bad in WoD that’s the only thing that’s skewing your PoV, the bar to entry was also lower as well as the time it takes to get geared.

Hey Dillon, I played against you a few days ago as tsg vs you, arms warrior and a druid(or mw I think). I ran duel, disarm and war banner to no effect against your combined burst…I think our hpal wasn’t very good but I’m not sure of anything else I could have done to counter you. Pretty impressive plays though

This may be argued, but bc-cata resil system, mop pvp power, wod ilvl scaling, and Legion templates are all better systems than current one. As the gear you get from pvp means is pretty crap for a lot of people. As it’s not itemized very well

Yo I actually remember that

I think the biggest thing was you honestly weren’t doing that much damage, fuse was doing significantly more damage in those games which had a big impact since counterpressure is very valuable defensively

Since there wasn’t that much pressure we were mostly able to stay as offensive as possible the whole game

It’s also important to save your fear against hunter teams when playing tsg to CC them on their burst CD goes (with coordinated assault) and if the hunter trinkets you should be ready to stormbolt immediately and deal as much damage as possible

This will peel the biggest window of pressure and give one for yourself too

I thought you said you only pvped late legion

I played RBGs in WoD.

Doesn’t make any sense? Besides from BFA/Legion, EVERY XPAC has had the SAME gearing system for PVP. Hit max level start running bgs grind honor and be full gear in a day or two or even at most a week casually playing. That is what he is talking about. He’s not talking about the specifics, PVP Power/Resilience, but how the gear is earned. This is what the PVP community wants, not because it was “the best system ever”, in fact people used to complain about that system. It’s just simply more enjoyable than the gearing system currently lol. To me a preferable system would be to have a separate Arena server, exactly like the tournament ones, where you can log in and be full gear instantly on every class. Nobody could complain about the gearing system then, and everyone would be on an “equal” playing field. It would also be marginally easier to balance. But nothing seems to change lately so it’s just hopes and dreams.

in WoD there was this gear you could buy just for wargames it was the exact same pvp gear you bought with conquest, but aforementioned only worked in wargames.
They should do something like that, but extend it to all instance pvp. Once they earn it they could get rid of the pvp only version of the stuff

what healer did you have?

Ofc if you pick a 2.2 cr healer and get 18-20 points per win and 0 per loss until 2050… it’s possible.

dont need a 2.2cr healer

if you win like 5 games in a row early on and only lose one every few after you can easily have mmr that outpaces your cr for almost ever

Some guy from LFG on an Rdruid.
