OCE community needs a server!

I just hopped on a few era / sod servers to see how it is, for some reason I get 350ms on US west coast servers but 200-210ms on US central servers. My mate gets 160ms on west coast and 190ms on central. The central server differences make sense given my net sucks, but any ideas/ bug fixes for why my US west ping is this insane? If I had enough mates stick around to play with 160ms might be playable but 350-360ms is completely unplayable.

If I was Blizz, I wouldn’t waste effort on OCE servers.
It has been the same since 2004…the population explodes, then in 1 month most people move to the OCE PvP server, or complain that they want a PvP server and start playing on one and boom…the population thins out and they become ghost towns.
It’s a complete waste of time and money from Blizzard’s end and I see no reason why they’d indulge a petulant and flaky playerbase that is a fraction of the global subscriber base.
It ain’t gonna happen folks, deal with it.

its routing, you will need a vpn (e.g. ExitLag) to sort it out, or you can call up your ISP and complain about your routing to west coast

Cmon guys, theres no way Blizzard would overlook the entire OCE region and leave us without a realm!? They cant expect us to play on 250+ms like its 2004 or something! I trust Blizzard will do the right thing and give us at least one PVP server.

I played on “OCE” servers in original TBC and have played on NA servers in retail. The latency/lag these days is nowhere near as bad as it was pre-NBN. And it was entirely playable then.

Same situation, I just got my sister and some friends keen to come for classic then see the announcement with no mention of oceanic realm I’m hopeful though or I also will have to give it a miss which would be a shame as I am very excited to try a new class this classic experience. We were actually going to subscribe tonight and set up our ui on current classic / download our addons.
