It’s hilarious that it’s us 3 again this year.
Like, I’m now almost 100% convinced that there’s more than pure RNG involved in the drop % - too many people who haven’t actively farmed for it, run alts or have any serious mount collection are getting it when they do less than 1 attempt per day and too many people who have been farming it for years and years aren’t getting it.
Oh, and one thing I’ve noticed which is kinda funny is how many people lie about how hard they’ve farmed for it. Loads of “ignore Rarity drop number” or “I’ve farmed this for 19 years” when it hasn’t even been out that long. Like, I could pretend I’ve been actively farming since the mount existed but the truth is that in the early years I only had 1-2 toons and several years I was taking breaks during the event time-frame. But for the past 8 years, ever since I resubbed after briefly playing on Nostalrius and getting the WoW itch back, I’ve been chasing mounts and this one has been near the top of my list that entire time (Other notable mounts are the Infinite Timereaver which I finally got last year, Onyxian Drake and Invincible which I got in sub-100 attempts and Headless Horseman which I also got last year finally)
Anyway, I dunno why people feel compelled to lie about it. Just admit that you basically stumbled into getting the drop haha. Then again, I guess it’s possible that a casual player means something different when they say they “farmed for 14 years” than mount hunters to. To them, doing the Crown Chemical Co dungeon a few times most years probably feels like “farming”.
It’s crazy though. With 4 Battle.net accounts for 4 “first tries” per day, plus ~27 “regular” attempts I had just under a 50% chance to see it drop by the end of the event. I can’t believe that I’m essentially running 4 years worth of attempts this year and still can’t even get enough luck to win a coinflip.

Nah, they just have psychoanalysts that prove gambling is the best strategy to keep us all addicted and pressing buttons over and over (thus having the game developed in such a way that is maddening, yet occasionally satisfying enough to feed the need).

This is very true. I think chimes posted what he actually thought and got spanked by blizz management when he put the blue post that alt running for a low drop chance wasn’t fun to do in game. Chimes I know you see this, I know you won’t respond, but help us out, this is a brutally painful event to get the mount in only 14 days of the year. We have five days left, just hotfix the boost to apply to all toons with the few days we have left
Currently have 42 toons to do this daily (last week i was at 38 so haven’t done 42 per day, but close). I might actually end up losing my mind.

Done more “first tries” this year than someone would do in 3 years and I still can’t get it. I’ve probably done more “first try” attempts than nearly anyone else in the game - there can’t be many people running 5+ accounts. And yet, nothing.
Lol, Qwater I dunno how you can be so upbeat. Whenever I see someone else get it, I can’t be happy for them. I wish I could, but it just makes me annoyed. It was way better when it was a 1/3333 drop for everyone - then if someone got it, it was just great luck. Now it’s literally unlucky that I haven’t got it yet, it’s ridiculous.

My friend I truly hope you get the rocket in the few days we have left. Going to your lengths with multiple bnets, I hope u get one! I’m trying to stay upbeat when others get, even when they didn’t even know about the rocket or were doing as a whim, I’m only really upset at bliz. This is such an easy fix, or at least they could communicate with us. Instead they spent al lol thier energy making new dailies and getting rid of the charm farming for event items …. Uhm how about the love rocket? The blue post has over 1k posts on it mostly me trying to get a response, nothing. I even threw down money creating a second account (turns out it wasn’t a bnet so it won’t give me an increased second daily) and went from a few alts to 14 now just to use for this event. Sigh, running it first time and coming up empty is brutal. In some ways I just want this event to be over.
