Anyone who still believe blizzard make decision using any other criteria then profits is delusional. WOTLK classic + Dragonfight in Q4 of 2022 will crank up looots of subscription which will looks great for the year end books. It’s all about financials, not about the customers.
World of Warcraft was a financial decision.
Of course it is. They need to rake in what they can before the sale goes through. Too bad it means the only content will be some dragon you fly. But hey, some people like to just fly dragons and not do anything else.
Woa, woa, woa…hold up…business are supposed to make money? What the actual
On a serious note, op i think the “anyone” you are referring to was just you. Glad you could join us.
Yes. That’s how companies make all their decisions.
Lol what the?
Who knew companies want to make money off their product!
It’s alright fanboys, let’s pretend all companies treat their customers like crap to boost short term incomes. Blizzard is just like every other companies out there!
Yea, this is why I said it would come out in 2022 for the last 6 months and got no support in any thread by anyone. And look what happened.
And yet here you are still giving them money. Odd……
On behalf of all rational people out there, I would like to thank you, OP, for YOUR contribution to making those profits - even if you do seem a little sour.
Given that they removed RFD from wrath classic even though most players cited it as their main reason for wanting to play, and now many are saying they are no longer interested, it sounds like that wasn’t strictly based on “financials”.
Customers pay the bills. Making a decision that will drive away customers is not something they would do for a financial reason. The reason lies otherwhere, in the deep-seated belief that tens of millions of people will come back to play wrath because casuals are going to be forced to spam trade chat to put together one group once in a while and then had to travel there to complete the dungeon.
Shadowlands was sold on pure hype. Right now Dragonflight is selling but still in the pure hype stage. It’ll make a nice spike on their earnings reports, but will they do a better job at retaining customers than they did for Shadowlands?
We don’t have to pretend. That’s what the majority of companies do. Not a fanboy thing, it’s a reality.
They are. Sorry that hurts your feelings.
It hasn’t come out yet. We will see if they make their deadline, and if they do, how complete the game is.
This is the same BS as thinking that they release store mounts to distract players or shore up subscription numbers.
These things are planned months in advance. Literally months. They probably already knew that the planned release date for Dragonflight was this year when they revealed the expansion to us, they just couldn’t release that information until they were sure they could hit the target.
Looks like i hurt yours…
Not even a little bit.
Nah they did it so they could get some profits from subs and sales before the Xbox buy out goes trough and they get the profits instead
They be smart
Why do people always say this like they’ve discovered some big conspiracy?
Companies make decisions to make money. I don’t like the way it is, but it’s the way it is, and it’s not a secret.
Wow.
A business making financial decisions?
Remembering the BfA release announcement, after which they moved it up because of some competitor’s release day, and having to back it off again…
Followed by legal issues, employment problems, and covid…
These are not normal times. It takes many months to train new employees. I would not be surprised if they weren’t a lot further behind than they want you to think.
