2020 and still Reputation's aren't account wide?

Why is this not a thing yet? I mean if I got exalted with something on my main why not I can’t have it on my alts?

I really can’t see the logic behind this at all.

Here ya go: Smashy does a lot of work for Dwarves. Dwarves come to like Smashy. Smashy’s cousin (an alt) shows up and is unknown to Dwarves. Has to build up his own reputation.

Seems logical to me. Can’t trust someone you dont know.

Because they have been giving rewards based on each character having to earn them. If they removed those rewards then you could have your account wide rep but it would be useless.

Each character is its own “person” in the universe even if its on your account. They may know your main but they dont know your alt; two seperate “people”.

They should bring back the MoP commendations though. Those were nice and useful and drastically lowered the rep grind for alts.

If you download the addon pretty reps you can pretend you do xD. It looks so nice!

It indeed is the current year.

That excuse of each of our character is its “own person” in the universe doesn’t make more sense, since we had the reps badges implemented in the game.

We can pick rep with most of the MOP factions just farming the badges from the Zandalari scouts, in WOD we received some of them through the follower table, which also happened in Legion and now in BFA.

And let’s not forget that now with Timewalking, we can buy these badges for 50 TW badges each, i did this with my pally buying all WOD TW badges and reached exalted with every faction of that expansion with just that. Not doing one single daily quest…

They could make the old reps account wide and letting just the current expansions ones out of it, and then making them account wide later.

It doesn’t make any sense that we can’t have this as feature nowdays.

And I am happy for it every time I log into WoW. We need less account-bound stuff, not more.

They never should be account wide. Not only because of each character
is a separate person in the game world. But also because if they ever
want to have a time where multiple sides are at war, and you decide
which to side with, as they have had in the past. Account bound reps
would keep them from being able to do that.

Either a boost of say 10% rep for every character you have at max rep.
Or just the MoP commendation style would be all we need.
Both are like your main character who gained the rep introduces
a friend (a alt) to the faction’s leaders.

How does what I do in game effects your gameplay? how explain.

How about you just turn that option off, or give us the option to turn rep-account wide?

As long as using an option to turn on account wide rep also turns off any rewards for you.

This would be very nice.

But, if they can’t give us this, it would be helpful if there was an indication of which factions were already exalted on our account. That way, if we decide to change mains or whatever, we know which reputations still need to be worked on without guessing or logging through a bunch of characters to figure it out.

What YOU do in the game doesn’t affect me, at all. Account-wide reps aren’t a simple “what I do in the game”, however. They’re a systemic change Blizzard would make that WOULD affect me.

I don’t want account-wide reps in the game. If it’s OK for you to post here that you want account-wide reps, it should also be OK for me to post that I don’t want them.

Character progression game.

It would take some tinkering to the over all system for reps not to be easily exploited on alts.

Might as well. I mean the armor from faction merchants it useless the time you reach exalted with them anyways. The other rewards are gold sinks anyways.

Makes me think of the stupid flight whistle requirements in Nazjatar requiring rep on alts. As if that zones terrain wasn’t punishing enough as it is.

Quite a daunting task if Smashy has 35 cousins.

A compromise I could get behind is that (all) rep vendors could sell BoA tokens that increase rep with their specific faction that can be sent to alts to increase rep. I mean some reps, like Timewalking vendors, already do this IIRC.

How about changing the game because you are to lazy to work on it for a the characters you create would change it for everyone in-game. Even those who see no problem with each character as a separate person in game while you probably just want to have every class covered so you don’t get replaced in a Guild Raid because you aren’t the FOTM Class.

Hey now, he said he cant see the logic behind it. I was just pointing out the simple logic of it. In game NPCs dont know what an ‘account’ is and dont care how much work you put in. They only know what they see. And if they see a new toon show up, they dont know him. Seems logical.

I argue that would only be logical in an actual world (where you can’t control 35 people in the first place), and not in a game. Considering the NPCs only know what the developers want them to, and developers know there are accounts.
