2018 the year of the micro transactions

Some people can’t see psat the the things they don’t understand.

Well, it you made any sort of sense this entire time, maybe we could have a discussion about it. I’m all ears on how you are tying Raider IO and micro transactions together.

Other than a monthly subscription, what have you hard to pay in order to play WOW? And advance a character?

ROCK LOBSTA! :parasol_on_ground:

There is precious little micro transactions in this game. And honestly, micro transactions is just how the industry evolved, nothing to do but adapt.

They’ve barely added anything to the store in years.

What are you even talking about?

You keep using this word. I don’t think it means what you think it means.

Also, for someone who’s only managed to collect about 100 mounts, I’m not sure you’ve been too worried about “earning” mounts, hehe. I don’t see any of the mounts from famous camps (like TLPD); nor do you really have anything from a raid/dungeon achievement outside ABT’s Spellwing. Your collection mostly consists of stuff that can be purchased with in-game gold, some that are drops from Arathi, etc. Nothing special.

. . . Okay, Horridon’s mount is pretty cool, but that’s it.

The butterfly dragon is pretty neat.

I haven’t paid extra. A LOT of people buy boosts and tokens though, and they are encouraged to do so by the design of the game.

So you haven’t given up your first born yet?! What a noob!

What and who are you defending?

I love that you’re trying to troll here! It’s so cute and earnest. /patpat

If you want to do that do it - you can EARN gold in this game which you can use to buy store mounts if that is what you are complaining about.

There is no problem with store purchases in this game if you want to actually earn it by playing the game - the option is there.

Which streamer have you been watching ? Were they even talking about WoW ?

dude there’s companies now that focus on helping developers squeeze out as much money as humanly possible from us, going as far as to calling us Payers, not gamers anymore. This is factual truth.

“games” are now built around a monetization model, not around making a great game with a good story, most games now are carbon copies of something else with more invasive money sinks for addicts to cling on.

Of course there are some companies out there that still develop great games but even giants like Rockstar are guilty of the same anti consumer practices when it comes to microtransactions.

This is extremely accurate. ^

And this game isn’t a microtransaction game. Go play a f2p MMO or a phone game to truly understand what a microtransaction game is. This ain’t one of em’.

Three cosmetic helms that have been there for ages, and some pets and mounts that don’t add any bonus to your gameplay does not a microtransaction game make.

The drama is strong with the OP.

Man I wish I hadn’t spent all of my likes. This is accurate and obvious but I guess people like to focus on one aspect of the game that doesn’t even give someone an edge over someone else. The kicker is that these store mounts can be bought if you have enough gold to do so as well.

Exactly man it all started when corporations started to adapt the model of games as a service in order stop paying development costs. It’s also the reason we don’t get warcraft 4, diablo 4, a new elder scrolls and are gettin basically reskinned call of duty’s, battle field and destinys.

We gamers are literally playing the same game over and over for years and years. No real innovations just more ways to extend play time and justify microtransactions. It a tug of war between developers and customers. Developers try to hold back and make as little content as they can till customers push back. This is a product of corporations wanting to grow profits infanitely.
