It’s over boys and girls the people that where making games we dreamed of as children are now retiring. Welcome to corporate gaming and the beginning of the new gaming crash.
I don’t want to buy the cool mounts I want to earn them.
I don’t want to buy the cool armor sets I want to earn them.
I don’t want to ignore my friends so I can play with people that no life games to earn the cool gear.
I don’t want to use raider io because the content is to hard.
I messed up I purchased the 6 month wow sub with the cool ship mount and now I only long in once every 3 weeks to try for an rng plate shoulder drop from warfront.
Dang it people called it when the wow token was made available and now all the cool mounts in wow are tied to microtrans actions.
RIP wow and any real gaming content for the next 10 years and by then we all will have moved on.
Ps: I’m pretty sure this thread will get flagged and deleted and frankly I don’t care and that’s sad.
I’m going to miss all the cool people I met gaming over the years. You all where great I just hope before we all are to old to care that gaming rights the ship.
Activision is catering the game to whales and addicts now. They are fleecing it for all it’s worth as the ship sinks. They know they can’t grow WoW, so they are bleeding it dry as it festers and dies.
Sadly it’s not just wow but every flipping game I buy now all the cool stuff is behind micro transactions with literally no way to earn in game. Kinda got me a little down as wow and other games where so cool for so long and now there is no communtitu and sense of accomplishment in any game.
There are far more massive amount of varied mounts that can be earned in the game than bought from the store. Like, comparing a mountain to a mole hill difference.
You…earn armor sets. Where did you get this idea you buy them? You’ve always earned sets.
Then don’t ignore your friends? What does your lack of social grace have anything to do with micro transactions?
Okay, we aren’t talking about micro transactions, are we? Raider IO has nothing to do with any of this. Raider IO is a player made thing, not a Blizzard one. Kind of kicking down the wrong person here.
Actually I agree with you, hence I liked your post…
I mean when I logged onto Starcraft 2 Co-op, you have to buy heroes, I mean what the hells…it took ages to just be able to budget to buy the campaigns alone…so I am going to draw the line there, and not purchase any of the other crap, it’s just wrong…
Also, Heroes of the Storm is totally pay-to-win, as it’s either grind, grind or pay money to unlock the cool stuff…it’s stupid.
Hearthstone isn’t so bad, but card games are allowed to have micro-transactions, as that’s what everyone did back in the Magic the Gathering days, that’s just how it rolls. So micro-transactions in card games are perfectly moral and acceptable.
I totally agree with you as well. It’s real nice to actually see people are finally realizing what’s going on with gaming but a super bummer we aren’t getting cool games anymore that we obviously want because of microtransactions.
I read an article years ago where it stated blizz gave up on diablo 3 and any more mmos because they are super hard to monotize for pc and here we are playing a 14 year old mmo and zero real diablo content for 6 years 4 if you count reaper for diablo.
Hey dude I’m talking about micrtransactions in general and inferring the infestation of them via cool mounts for sale and wow tokens. Have you not noticed how low effort the gear sets in bfa are jimmity crickets.
Perhaps you would peruse this article to see what microtransactions actually are. I have yet to see them in WoW. ~https://www.intelligenteconomist.com/economics-of-microtransactions/
There are a grand total of 12 mounts in the shop. It is debatable at best as to whether or not they are ‘cooler’ than the hundreds of earned in-game mounts. And the comment about the gear sets is totally irrelevant since there are a grand total of three transmog helms in the cash shop.
I can’t even remember the last time something outside a pet was added to the shop. This is a pretty sad conspiracy theory.
Look up why a new fable game was never made and how the creator said gaming was moving toward monitizing Games long term via moving away from creating new games and he said this years ago and here we are.
Games as a service was something Microsoft was very keen on. The supporting of Windows 10 was something Microsoft was very keen on. And the prettiest ever online game using DirectX 12 was very much something Microsoft was keen on. So we just supported all of those things because we wanted to keep in their good books."
To be fair to the op they are alliance. They may may not like horse mounts. Which is what they keep giving alliance. The store at least is less horse heavy lol.
Not all that good those mounts imo. I have seen few mounts in wow I had to ask where they got them. Wasn’t the store, in game stuff.
But that is not the basis for a microtrans rant. For a please stop with the horses rant, yes. The alliance is several non-human races. Lets, you know, work that. I am sure another race has found some cool animals to tame and ride, lets show that lol.
Someone recommended you farm warbringers for mounts, as if that’s any different from a microtransaction when you consider the droprate… I had great luck with mounts this week, but they were all mounts I’ve been farming for YEARS. Think of how much money that is… time consuming content is not by itself, fun content.
These two don’t really belong… mythic raiders before this ap nonsense rarely logged in more then six to nine hours a week. While that is still a decent chunk of time I wouldn’t call that no “lifeing” it.
I am confused, what are you even talking about??? What armor sets do you buy instead of earning in game? What mounts have they just added to the shop??? Even the ship mount you are referring to was simply a perk for a longer sub not an actual purchase, and other than that there have been no added shop mounts. Previous expacs and years have had FAR more and no one said anything because even then the vast majority of mounts are still obtainable only via in game. This is true of BFA which has added a ton of mounts none of which can be purchased for real money.
Also your claim that this thread will be flagged and deleted is ridiculous… lol.
Are you baiting with this or actually serious and just lacking common sense?
