It appears to be a duplicate of the proper tracking achievement, as it’s now showing on every character I checked after the fresh level 50 druid got it from randomly looting a mob in Stratholme UD (highmountain tauren on The Scryers RP server). She’s a pretty new character and levelled through random content. The last legitimate money achievement she got was looting 1000 gold (which I saw pop earlier in today’s play session).
My most played characters on my home server don’t even have the 50K achievement yet. The weird new achievement shows everything greyed out that characters haven’t earned, except for 100K and 200K gold, which show as green text as if legitimately earned. They still have what I would call the proper tracking achievement showing the correct milestones earned, further down their achievements list.
I have no idea if it’s even something that can be fixed, but in case more people are seeing something similar or it’s something that would raise a dev’s eyebrow… well, it’s a thing that happened at about 2:30am EST today.
I’m not sure I’m reading what you wrote correctly, but the 200k achievement is contributed to by all your characters. So you would’ve work towards it by looting gold on all alts, and it could trigger on any character once you’ve reached it. There is a separate achievement for gold earned on that specific character only. You can tell which achievements are shared like this by hovering over the number of achievement points you would get on the right hand side of the bar for that achievement. If you open up the achievement panel under character achievements at the top, you’ll see it’s tracking two separate mind on my money achievements.
If that’s true, why are some of the achievements greyed out in the new meta-achievement when I mouse over them? Also I’d expect it to be called a slightly different title (“We’ve All Got Our Minds On Our Money” for example), but as it stands, it looks like a bugged version of the proper one. I guess if everyone sees something similar who has played the game for long enough, then maybe I just have a particularly weird UI glitch… but I haven’t seen the other stages of the potential meta-achievements pop. I woulda noticed the 100K one for sure and for whatever reason, that one does show as green text when I mouse over it. If it’s a newer achievement set, it should have backdated the other stages that have grey mouseover text and they’d be green too.
'Tis weird, fo sho.
