Title 20 years have passed and Blizzard couldn’t implement mail gear with intellect + healing done in BFD nor crafted gear added. Blizzard do you think it’s funny to see paladins rolling for cloth/leather with damage + healing done?. And I expect to see the same thing next phase with no plate gear either. And before you all start saying oh but that gear might affect other mail users, all you have to do is label the gear with the tag ‘Paladin’ that’s it, but no apparently it’s too much to ask as if you were programming the code to travel to Saturn.
PS: Paladins with cloth gear look dumb af for real.

Completely agree. They added all this new stuff for SoD and clearly don’t care about Holy Paladin at all. No healer mail gear and we’re the worst healers. Give us some love Blizz!

while i agree,
think of how lazy blizz is…adding loot for just 1 spec is the issue.
they just dont want to add loot that only 1 spec can use.
cloth healing is usable by all , so on blizz mind why bother ?

Blizzard team have done a great job keeping the feel of classic. we dont want retail itemization. I dont care too much about cloth leather but what i do care about is all the weapons being staffs. that is a little bit of a slap in the face lol. Keep classic feel in itemization but throw us a bone please blizz

i dont agree with all the negative comments here but I think blizz need to implement some good pieces here and there for the pally holy. I personally think its cool that the paladin’s strength is they can roll on all gear classes. this gives them an advantage over other healers in one respect and adds to their uniqueness. Even if mail is implemented, im still rolling on cloth that is better for healing.
TLDR: Keep uniqueness of itemization but do add some niche pieces for the Holy Paladin, (possibly gear set aswell) and add some weapons that add healing that we can use xD i really didnt like the fact that all the good spell weps are daggers or staves. seems wrong.

Been mentioning this before launch even. I knew it was coming, another round of classic leather and cloth for holy paladin.
At a minimum they could add new “Green” crafted mail and plate for caster/healing up to the late 50s at lease. Hell even Warriors will want it unless they change Diamond Flask.
You mean like them adding sets for new roles in class design like Warlock Tanks, feels very Classic dun it.

I don’t want perfect itemization but I do agree more non-cloth / leather healing items need to exist. And hopefully they adjust the stats on hybrid tier gear / pvp gear when we hit 60

What’s funny is Tier Leather is by far BiS for Prot as well. Not to mention how the Tanking rune works. You need to take damage so you are healed to get Mana. So Leather is better. If you are too Tanky you are Mana starved and can’t cast spells.
I’ve made a thread as well. It’s super annoying and have shelved my Prot Pal till I can get some good Int/Spell power gear. There is a reason why in TBC they converted Str to Spell power.
Spell power/Int is BiS for Prot/Holy. Unless I want to generate no threat and be OOM.
Paladins are the only class that don’t have a weapon upgrade in the BFD raid. Our BIS is a BoE “of healing” mace paired with a BoE “of healing” shield.
We don’t need a paladin specific weapon. Just add +spell power to Strength of Purpose and/or add a 1H sword to the raid with +spell power.
Personally, I think at this point it’s apart of the Holy Paladin class identity in Classic to wear dresses and hold flowers.
