I still have quite a few balloons.
As for the 20th. I can totally see how there’s a week long celebration. A GM kicks off the event in each capital city.
We fly to various zones. Collect tokens or something. Maybe do an iconic quest, or even a silly escort. Everyone morphs into a gnome and does a short run to Ironforge.
I’m sure there’s a way to make it so that it’s a celebration of the world without completely removing the fantasy experience.
We could visit old locales. Have like a thing outside of Onyxia. You join a group and get to watch Leroy being performed by AI in the instance or something.
Log into Orgrimmar one-day and find piles of skeletons everywhere. To recall the corrupted blood.
There are probably thousands of little mini cinematics that people probably either haven’t seen or have forgotten about.
Have like a little projector screen at that location where you can watch the cinematic or skip it if you want as part of a larger watch all cinematics in an particular area achievement.
Maybe add something to the darkmoon faire that would accommodate the arcade machines. Where are you can play a mission or two. It reminds me of that little quest that plants versus zombies.
Some kind of instance where are you with other players and can place down WC3 buildings and units to simulate RTS.
If we’re on 10 expansions… perhaps stretch this out over a two week period. And each day there’s like a big celebration of raid bosses or something for each expansion. A big rock concert.
If you’ve ever played any of the RTS, you know how there’s a cinematic blooper reel during the credits. Something like that each day of this two week period that specifically celebrates that particular expansion.
As in Monday could be a classic raid, bosses and dungeon bosses. These bosses appear and go through some sequence of events on a 30 minute cycle. Tie in some achievements or toys. Some kind of token that we can use to purchase things later.
Tuesday will be the burning crusade and Wednesday wrath of Lich king etc. etc.

Absolutely. Anything that is truly iconic that we all can remember.
If Blizz really wants to do 20th anniversary justice I think they’d have to do something similar to the 10th Anniversary Ragnaros event but even bigger and more iconic. If it were up to me I think the choice would have to be a Bronze/Infinite themed crossing timelines event featuring what at least to me personally is the most iconic Vanilla World Event and Raid: The Opening of Ahn’Qiraj and AQ40
The actual “Opening of Ahn’Qiraj” part would obviously not be able to be a 1:1 version of the original vanilla event, instead it could feature Chromie taking us back to the time the original event was going on, and instead of us doing the original event our mission is to stop the infinite dragonflight behind the scenes from sabotaging the outcome of the original event. The world event portion for most players could reward the a new High-Rez version of the unarmored Black Qiraji Battle Tank for the completion of the special event questline or something
Then the event version of AQ40 could maybe feature an extra Infinite Dragonflight boss at the end instead of C’Thun or something and that would reward a High-Rez version of the Armored Black Qiraji Battle Tank plus a new “% The Scarab Emperor/Empress” title + FoS
This would preserve the crazy exclusivity of the original Black Qiraji Battle Tank/Scarab Lords while giving everyone a chance to get a very similar/band new analogue to them so really everyone wins.
Also they could bring back some old removed vanilla mogs and stuff for the world event portion of this anniversary as well like they did in the past anniveraries where they brought the vanilla world dragon bosses back too

Better yet, every mob in Elwynn forest is now Hogger but scaled appropriately. Like that Murloc universe we went to. Think of Corgi glasses, we literally see everything as a Corgi.
Every mob is a Vagash variation in Dun Morogh. Every mob is a type of Fel Reaver in HFP. Even if they fly or swim.
