20 Man Killed My Guild

#yawn. I realize discussion points broader than “10 player good” aren’t your forte, but you could at least attempt to keep up.

I mean, you come on here and do nothing but cope. What do you want me to tell you?

I rather like the Shadowblade. If I had Julie’s I would probably have one run where I MH SB and OH Julie’s to try to maximize poison procs Wrath style.

See that’s the thing. I usually try out different things on a week to week basis just to see what I like. That can be a different build. Different runes. Different skill order. Different gear setup. Etc. One week we had too many melee, so I volunteered to be in the healer group. I don’t particularly care about my parses. I have an entire set of Classic parses in all major phases where I went hard. My raid is clearing the raid in about 50-60 minutes every week and I am doing good damage within that my raid context. Anything else is just numbers.

Cope. More.

lol, lmao even. Sounds like weapons-grade copium, my dude!

If you say so. I know why my parses are what they are which is something I guarantee you don’t understand

This week I am trying to decide which dagger combination I want to run which will determine which rune combination I want to run. I may even change up my build so it generates more combo points. Why? Because I can.

Truly, the real classic community.

You know whats like retail? Retail

The fact that you think it’s okay to demand 2 Priests in a 10 man is crazy and exactly my point.

I did this boss last night with 2 Priests and it was quite hectic. Going from 4 to 3 is a small step, going from 4 to 2 is a huge dip. But that’s the nature of 10 mans. You either have the stuff and it’s trivial or you don’t and it’s a nightmare.

With 10 man you also miss out on the logistics and assignment aspect or adapting on the fly.

I dunno I’ve just had a fantastic time with 20 man ST. I’ve generally been a “give me 10 man or give me death” type of guy but ST has been a blast. It’s not like how cringe 20 mans on Retail are. :dracthyr_shrug:

i don’t know man. i could see the SoD devs caving to whiners and making it all 10 man :expressionless:

Personally, I hope they add new content that is 10 player content that gives gear that is almost as good as the 20 player content that is almost as good as the eventual 40 player content (like I am talking such a small difference to make it not really matter) just so they can cater to everyone as much as they can. I would prefer this not be in the form of flex raiding. I would prefer new content.

That said, I don’t think they have the dev capacity for any of it. I don’t think they can make the 20 player MC 10 players because their devs double as devs for Cata. I don’t think they can really dive into new dungeons for the same reason. I am hoping that if they ever get around to Classic+ that they significantly ramp up their dev team to be able to make that kind of new content.

Keep Onyxia as 40 man content but if Naxx is a 40 man that’s a hard L to me. 20 man should be the core, 40 man and 10 man should exist as supplemental side content. 40 man epic one off boss fights like Ony or stuff like Gruul and 10 man for stuff like Kara etc.

Disagree. Wrath Naxx just isn’t the same as Classic Wrath. That’s one that I hope they flex since they already have it built in a different version though.

I didn’t though! I was just giving you an example of role duplication. I said in the same post…

I understand where you’re coming from and the sentiment behind it. To me, anything over 10man is usually just doubling up on responsibilities. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.

I guess. All I can say is that ST has been a blast, my favorite raid in SoD by far. Then again. We had a really successful guild merger - if your 10 merged with another 10 and it didn’t go well I guess I can understand the concern around it.

Our 10man tried to recruit, but it didn’t end up working out. We almost merged with another 10man but had some time/personality issues in the end. A chunk of us ended up joining a guild that is organized for 20 and 40mans, and while they’re a great guild so far, I just find raiding with 10 closer friends more enjoyable than 20 or 40 people I don’t know as well.

If you were gonna go on a life or death quest, you’d want to go with people you know and trust, not just a bunch of people off the street, right?

I’ve done everything from led raids in classic (MC/BWL) to Sunwell bosses for GMs on the test server. To me, 10man Karazan is where I had the most fun by far.

raid leads don’t want to recruit because for every person that you gain you lose 2 others in the process

it also tends to make people more social as you dont have to talk over 20-40 other people in a discord call

I would like to hear the opinions of people organizing the bigger raids. Everyone that wants to move to 20/40 man raids isn’t putting in any of the work to make them happen.

Besides, everyone can stop arguing because I don’t think Blizzard cares about player opinion on it. They will move to bigger raids even if it’s not what most people want.

The most profitable phase of SoD is over. They’re done with it aside from gathering data for future seasons off our subs. They are fine with the population dropping and most people quietly moving on to something else. Otherwise they’ll find it harder to justify diminishing support for SoD and its eventual (but maybe sooner than planned!) shut down.

Anyway, no need to keep arguing. Your opinions don’t matter to the people you’re arguing with and the devs already stated they don’t even read the forums, they just do what they’re planning regardless of player sentiment.

20 mans suck because we have a solid ten man that is consistently losing rolls to different pugs every week.

That sucks. I can feel that, especially since tier gear really peaks with the three piece - in fact for Rogue for instance my recollection is that it doesn’t recommend breaking last tier three piece until you get the three piece this tier. So losing those rolls sucks. Just objectively a lame aspect of PUGing, whereas with a guild you can make sure the homies get their 3-pc.

I do dungeons with people, I buy items from people, I sell boosts for people, I do everything else in the game with other people I just want to raid with friends.

I like the thread though. You don’t like the game how it is and the option remains for you to unsubscribe. End of story

Honestly 20 man killed my passion for SOD and killed my guild all together even though we merged with another guild. Its have killed more people’s fun more than those people having fun now. 20 mans was an “need” not an “want”. Its making to chose over getting 10 more people than have the guild die was/is an bad idea as you lose that feeling of tighter team. Saying its an “MMO” to make it feel better doesn’t make it good. 10 mans is an MMO idea still. Yet an 20 mans killed that mmo side than they loss those people.
