2 weeks of testing and everyone hates the new raid

Claiming that mechanics requiring awareness automatically makes a raid “arcade-like” is misleading. Classic raids have always had mechanics requiring coordination, even if they weren’t as numerous as modern fights. WeakAuras has been used in every SoD raid so far, so acting like it’s suddenly a requirement now is just selective criticism. The presence of mechanics doesn’t make a raid “Retail,” it just makes it engaging and demanding, rather than a mindless DPS race.

Comparing Scarlet Enclave to Mythic race for world first is a massive stretch. SE is not designed for hundreds of wipes—it’s tough, but far from Mythic-level difficulty. Classic and SoD raids have had hard progression bosses in the past, so pretending this difficulty level is unheard of ignores past precedent.

Except many arguments against the raid revolve around wanting nerfs that would make progression significantly easier. If players are demanding heavy-handed raid nerfs, then yes, they are asking for the raid to roll over and die. Difficulty itself isn’t the issue—it’s the demand for Retail-style accessibility that undermines Classic progression.

Scarlet Enclave is built within SoD’s framework—it uses the discovery system, Reals progression, and Class tuning unique to SoD. Just because it doesn’t fall over like previous raids doesn’t suddenly make it a Retail design. If anything, the challenge reinforces what SoD was meant to be—a Classic+ experience with added depth.
