so only got 2 bosses down this week and lost progression because people dont want to come to this raid so filling raids is near impossible
long story short most people want to quit the new raid until its either fixed and tuned properly with all the garbage AoE removed from trash and the bosses AoE raid damage needs to be nerfed by like 50-80% damage
the bigger health pools on enemys was actually cool and good having big AoE damage on those enemys is stupid you nerfed it the wrong way no one wants low health high damage enemys we have to burst down real quick
give us real enemys and make it so there attacks do lots of damage and they have like 1-2 abilitys this currenty meta of having every trash mob do like 10 different things sucks no one likes it and every one hates this stupid new raid
on 2 weeks of proggressions we should be clearing or 2/3rds clearing the raid
IM NOT GOING TO SIT HERE AND FARM THIS RAID FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS JUST TO GET MY LOOT
WE WANT OUR RAID LOOT TO DO OUR DPS AND PARSE
I DONT RAID TO GET STRESSED OUT EVERY WEEK
WE RAID TO HAVE FUN WITH OUR FRIENDS AND BUILD UP OUR CHARACTERS
NAXX WAS THE PERFECT LEVEL OF PROGRESSION WHY ARE YOU GUYS MAKING THE GAME WORSE NO ONE WANTS AN UPHILL SLOG WHERE WE WONT GET OUR RAID LOOT UNTIL THE PHASE IS ALREADY COMING TO AND END
I SHOULDNT STILL BE DESPERATE TO SEE ITEMS DROP FROM AQ 40 FOR THE FIRST TIME FIX YOUR LOOT TABLES AND NORMALIZE HOW MANY TOKENS DROP IM SICK AND TIRED OF 90% OF THE TOKENS BEING FOR WARRIORS WE LITTERALLY THROW THAT TOKEN IN THE GARBAGE WHILE SHAMANS STILL CANT GET 2 PEICE FOR THE SET YOU GUYS CLEARLY PUT SOMETHING IN PLACE TO SCREW OVER HORDE RAIDS AND ITS OBVIOUS
BUFF 2 HAND ENHANCE SHAMANS DPS AND NERF THE RAID ALREADY YOU TRASH TEIR GAME DEVS
LAZY GOOD FOR NOTHING DEVS WHO CANT EVEN TUNE A SINGLE RAID PROPERLY
100% agree. I’m not playing SoD to smash my face into my keyboard. I want a decent challenge, fun mechanics, have fun with my guildies, and get awesome loot.
Wiping on a boss 20+ times is not our idea of fun. That’s just frustrating and makes me wanna quit.
Hate is a strong word. There is a lot to unpack here about the raid in the current state relative to this being the last raid, and the end of SOD.
SE is markedly different than anything else we’ve gotten in SOD, outside of maybe pre-nerf ST. We’re getting very polarizing responses from the player base.
For some dad gamers, SoD is meant to be a easy, blast through raid in 2 hours with the boys, experience. This isnt close to that at all. You could argue Blizz missed the mark on what the player base wanted or had been expecting given the prior raids.
For people intending to stay in SoD long term, or at least enjoy the last few months of it, this raid does offer much more staying power, in the terms of offering a reason to keep playing. Had we full cleared week 1, people would have quit after “beating” the game. There are people looking forward to the progression. This also may make more sense from a numbers retention policy for Blizzard, which, at the end of the day, cash is king.
This is mechanically more intense than any other raid, and I think players do appreciate that difficulty increase. However, the one shot, short enrage timers, tons of trash, and overtunment of the raid (relative to player power and needing new tier to clear it) was a bit of a miss. There’s a fine line between progression and a stonewall, and this is leaning toward the later. The nerfs to every spec prior to release didn’t help.
The dynamic of needing more than 25-30 players to clear, after months of needing only 20 core members in a guild, along with SOD lowering population, was a miss. Blizz pushed towards guilds being the main raiding scene, away from other raiding types (yes GDKPs), and the community generally positively responded to that. However, now that is upended, as your guild doesn’t have enough people, and if you can find pugs, if they get loot, it meaningfully stops progression if those same pugs don’t come back. That seems to be counter to the push of the guild being the core scene as Blizz wanted.
On the whole, I think the raid has some cool stuff in it, and has a lot of potential. It also does offer a nice difficult raid for people who intend to play to the end. However, it does feel like a miss from the perspective of the general community, and once the casual dad gamer leaves en mass, even the people currently enjoying prog, and eventually full clearing, will find themselves with no one else to play with.
I think this raid was more a shock to everyone and we havent really come to terms with it yet
I don’t think SE is a bad raid, it’s just horridly overtuned because there was no PTR and aggrend is currently coping about getting called out on this. At the current numbers this raid is not designed for 20 players. It’s effectively a retail mythic-lite raid shoved into vanilla awkwardly. Blizzard somehow forgets every lesson they learn whenever they are designing new raid tiers, so they’ve managed to not figure out with years of data that classic players don’t want hard raids. They also set up a bunch of good hard mode systems over the course of SoD and then threw them all in the trash for the raid that could use them the most.
I don’t hate SE, I just think it needed a lot more testing before it was launched and they need to realize that classic is not retail and raids need to be designed with the classic playerbase in mind.
The time/effort/reward is so skewed for this raid. You have half the bosses that drop half the tier and they are 10x as difficult. I have two alts I play in more casual groups and I’m about to shelve them, it’s not worth going in here for 5 hours and getting 2 or 3 bosses down, there’s just better ways I can spend my time.
If you want easy raids then go to retail. Dumbing down the raids because players in some guilds are bad, or, don’t want to boot their bad players, is what led to retail being the snooze fest that it is.
This was their mindset, now we got a raid that is tight on enrage timers and we still have to execute mechanics well enough for people not to die. Soli is an offender of overlapping abilities which is no fun. Mason needs to minmax the cannon people, or you hit enrage and wipe. Beastlord is like tank responsibilities over anything else.
There’s no boss where you can do just mechanics and not wipe to a stupid enrage timer atm.
Trying to speak for everyone in an entire community is a different level of dent mentality.
I love the difficulty of this raid, my guild is currently 5/8 and anyone whos currently progging it will easily tell you it is not tuned for 20 people.
And here we have the real reason he made this post, to piggy back off of the hivemind of sheep who can’t think for themselves and follow the hate train.
“everyone” hating are the 20 people on this forum and in general chat. Most of us are silent and enjoying the raid and progression. Well done with this raid, blizz!
if i cant be 3 beers deep and joke around with my friends while raiding then whats the point
i work 40+ hours at a hard labor job and only get a few hours each week still havent finished all the quests yet there fun so far but come on i dont want more stress from raiding
Naxx was way too easy to start with and, still too easy on HM4 once you got geared. The last few bosses are the only ones that hit the balancing act properly. Having multiple HM4 fights that last sub 1 min isn’t good tuning.
But SE is WAY WAY too far the other way, especially following severe nerfs to all Naxx sets. There’s a lot of room to cut down the HP of SE bosses without getting anywhere close to sub 1 min zergs.
