I saw a timeline that has been accurate so far that is showing pre patch to be 3 weeks long. It’s been right on the pre patch date and the midnight release date so far
Random thought but what if they did a 3 week pre-patch and offset TBC raids opening by 1 week? (or a 2 + 2)
Effectively giving 4 weeks to be raid ready for Shaman/Pallys but also establishing a pre-BiS gearing phase 0, which is fun in and of itself
IE Feb 5th launch. Feb 12th raids unlock
Four weeks preferable. Even longer would be great, but virtually no chance of that. Even 4 would shock me. I really don’t think players need to obsess about going full pre-bis, given the nerfed raids. I mean…I know they will. But it’s not necessary. I’m all for delaying the raids a week though.
My gut tells me 2 weeks. Then a mad dash through TBC with Wrath in less than a year. We’re barely getting over a year in the Vanilla Anni. And original TBC was a lot shorter than Vanilla. So unless they significantly slow things down, TBC will be over probably by 2027.
Yep. Idea is really about creating a pre-BIS phase. It’s fun to bust out the pre-bis lists and have time to get your stuff settled before raids launch. Especially with how good the TBC dungeon scene will be the opening weeks

Not only is the second half of January not vacation time, for many it’s a very busy time at work as projects that accumulated over the holidays have to be dealt with. That’s definitely true for me.

Everyone in this thread realizes that the first phase raids in TBC were done in about 45 minutes right in green gear, Grulls was like 30 minutes / Mag done in like 15. The only raid that was actually long was kara and that was a 10 man raid which was cleared very quickly.
You haven’t played with the creatures in anniversary have you?

First phase raids are kara, gruul, and mag. If Mag and Gruul take 45mins together, thats all of your supposed 45minute of raiding right there without even stepping foot into phase 1’s longest raid…
First phase raids are short as hell, but over exaggerating and then contradicting yourself right after just adds a point to the other side in the debate.
