It’s not much, but I can now actually tmog my prot spec with a 1h spear and shield. Gotta take joy in the little things.

Very optimistic, but cautious. This isnt the first one handed spear thats been patched into a two handed spear after launch.
Would love to DW spears that arent way too big and held like a dummy.

Very true!
To implement a proper 1h spear, they need very, very different animations to existing movesets (sword, mace & axe).
Would be nice to have spear animations that are similar to the souls games tbh
It is listed as a one hand in game still. Looked it up in the appearance tab. Copied it into chat and checked. The other weapon that shares the same appearance is a cosmetic two hand.
My guess it will probably be fixed with DF’s launch if it is unintentional. The weapon speed is still 3.6 sec base. Which is what two hand weapons are set to.
Is it possible to get this on live?
Not yet.
Have to wait until Dragonflight proper. And even then Blizzard will probably patch it so it is a 2 hand. Since Polearms are ‘2 hand weapons’.
I keep hoping they develope a one handed spear that looks like Shaka’s iklwa! (Sometimes called an assegai)
They already have animations that would work perfectly for a spear in the 1hpierce category.
